Hi, can someone shed some light on the front sprocket issue? Is the 14t too small? Is the 15-41 the way to go?

New Members should use the great stickies that our mods created just for this purpose. About every topic and question can be found in them, and of course you always have the search button to help you out too.

This topic has been covered many many times and you can find 99% of it via stickies and search . Best of luck Boxhead!

Good point Gunny! Some people have went either way Boxhead. I believe going the 14T upfront is less expensive because you don't need a new chain where as the 15/41 requires a new chan and a rear sprocket. I personally went the 15/41 route and love it.

Everything he said, but I went with the 14T front sprocket only. A little over 10,000 miles now on the OEM chain and rear sprocket and nothing but smiles. About $25 and whatever labor your dealer charges or DIY.

If you want to see the effect and compare gearing options: Gearing Commander: Motorcycle Speed, RPM, Chain & Sprockets Calculator

I also was looking for some added bling and was a big part of my reason for going
the route I did.
