Hi all,
Been surfing this forum for useful info for quite a while now and just decided to sign up. A bit about myself - I learned to ride a few years ago. Built my first bike (CS-1). Started riding liters once I got comfy. Decided I wanted more power. Put hundreds, if not thousands, of miles on the following: CBR1000rr, RSV4 Factory, and an R1 (all great bikes by way). Read about the S1000rr and became obsessed for about a year. Test rode the S1000rr and the 1199 (not seriously considering it) on the same day. If not for the vibrators the BMW calls handle bars, I would have fallen asleep. Fell in love with the 1199. Became obsessed with it for 7 months before I picked one up. It's been 3 months since my purchase and I'm still obsessed. I love this thing. More than I should. I look forward to interacting with y'all in the future.
Regards,
Squidzilla

Welcome to the forum! Can't wait to read the response from the trolls on your choosing the 1199 over the Beemer :)

That's also quite the name you have there...

Welcome! Hope you have thick skin, 'cause people do a lot of interacting 'round here.:D

BTW, what is a CS1? Google image lands me on a scooter.

Thanks, guys. I'm surprised the name wasn't already taken :)

Fireman - the CS-1 is a cafe racer based on the Suzuki Savage. It's like a baby Pani in my eyes. Single cylinder, loud, and light (320 lbs). I'm sure I'll catch some flack for comparing the two, but oh well.

Welcome! Indeed a very cool cafe racer, and an interesting screen name choice.

Makes me want to order calamari and browse Revzilla for riding gear while I'm waiting.

Squid:
A young motorcyclist who overestimates his abilities, boasts of his riding skills when in reality he has none. Squid bikes are usually decorated with chrome and various anodized bits. Rear tyres are too wide for their own good, swingarm extended. Really slow in the corners, and sudden bursts of acceleration when a straight appears. Squids wear no protection, deeming themselves invincible. This fact compounds intself with the fact that they engage in 'extreem riding'--performing wheelies and stoppies in public areas. Squids wreck alot. Derived from 'squirly kid'

lol....

o_O

I have a Suzuki Savage that's been sitting in storage for 15 yrs (wife's bike) that I've all but forgotten about.

Now I think I know what to do with it.....

Haha! Yeah, the definition posted by jduc is what I was shooting for. The CS-1 is a fun bike. Gets just as many looks as the 1199. The build may take about two months if you take your time and only work weekends.
