It's not that I'm too fast for the tires I currently have. I'm just wondering what the stickiest street tire is right now. I'm not concerned with warm up times, longevity, or price. Recently I've tried the Dunlop Q2's on my trackbike, I honestly wasn't impressed. I hear the Q3's are much better. On my S1000RR I've had the Metzeler K3's and currently have Michelin Super Sports. Both are great tires, but I think the Supercorsa's are more sticky. So what are you guys/gals opinions? Remember, I'm talking about tires that don't require warmers.

I have the Q3's right now, and as fantastic as they are especially for the price, I think the Supercorsa V2 is the stickiest street tire out there. In the dry of course.

inb4 Q3 nuthug parade.

The stickiest track/street tire I have ever used are Bridgestone Bt003's. there are new models now I am sure they are very good. I will only get a set once the Pirelli's are goners

If you are talking street, Supercorsa V2s. Track, Pirelli slicks

The only problem I have with Pirelli's is there longevity.

I ran Michelin Power Cup Slicks on the track, and they were even better with a long life.

Before I ran the Cups I was the biggest Pirelli fan on the planet, and biggest opponent on Michelins.

My next set of tires on the street will be Q3's. A few of my buddies run them on their track bike in Advanced, and love them.

For what purpose exactly?

whats that statement, sort of like price, stickiness, longevity - pick any two. . . there are some that do all three well, but you want the best, you probably won't get the longest lasting, stickiest and cheapest price. .

I would say the Pirellis SuperCorsa (SC/SP) are probably the "stickiest" tire for in the dry conditions - assuming moderately warm conditions (or ability to get the tire hot). . The Q3's are excellent tires and last longer than the Pirellis' but are not as "sticky" as the Supercorsa's.

For those of you sticking to the V2 opinion as the grippiest on the street I must ask you: have you even ridden on the Q3's??

I'm curious....
I myself put 7,300 street miles on the V2 on my S and hated every moment.
I'm over 6,000 now on my R with Q3's and haven't had a single complaint- .... I've ridden the R hard and at 7900 miles total on the bike i just reached the wear indicators. All around much better tire IMO- grip, price, life, etc

Have found the pirelli sc2 compound is wearing alot better then the oem, but after so many street cycles im finding it harder to get heat into them and starting to cold tear. For feedback and wear i think the michelin pilot power 2ct's were the best i had on my old 1198

The sc2 probably has a harder middle compound than the other tires so it gives better life. But yes even though pirelli says tires are less susceptible to heat cycles than before, it still has limits on heat cycles compared to the street compounds,,,

I have ridden the q2 and q3's. It's a good tire and certainly wears better if you are very hard on the tire. I've ridden both on the track as well. . It is also a much better tire when the road is a bit wet. However - cost no object and you get a fresh scrubbed tire every day to ride on the road or on the track, I would pick the Pirelli sc1/sc2 combination in DOT for absolute "stickiness"

Supercorsa SC2s, SC1s and SC0s are all DOT approved race rubber that can be run on the street. After the R launch (which was on SC2s), I've run nothing but SC2s, which provide noticeably greater grip on the track and on the street than the stock Supercorsas. And it wasn't just me--the journalists raved about 'em after every session (being able to brake down to the apex on your knee gets addictive). Unlike super gummy rubber, they miraculously wear very well on the street and provide an unusual amount of grip even when cold. I've also been through some pretty torrential rains with 'em and have never had any issues.

Never run the SC1 or SC0s, both are even stickier, but I imagine not quite as well-rounded on the street as the SC2s.

Has anyone had experience with the Bridgestone slicks, V02 vs the Pirelli supercorsa slicks, SC0/1/2? Which are stickier?

Agreed.

And if it wasn't for cost, Id run them.

The Q3's due to price and performance are the king on the hill at this point in time.

Its not just how sticky they are, most people rarely run out of tire on the street. Ive ran the Q's and the SC's to slipping but it was never on dry clean pavement. It was either gravel, tar snakes, wet pavement, greasy pavement, clay on the rode, or miss shifting the 848 having the rear kick out lol :D

Its the feedback and midline stability that makes the Q3 such a great tire. Its the confidence it gives the rider.

I totally agreed with White Pani, I also tried both Supercorsas V2 and Q3s and love the Q3s for the streets, but I'm looking forward trying them on the track

its not always whats the stickiest tire for said event it is also your ability. lets just say you have a tire thats super sticky but it needs a constant temp for them to be that way. even if you have warmers on and you arent fast enough they will lose the heat and be useless to you.

with that out of the way if you arent using tire warmers and you need a tire that heats up fast and does the job consistently the Q3 is your choice for sure. Hell the 40 rebate is back no reason not to try a set.

i wont get into dot race or slicks because 1 i dont use slicks so i wouldnt know and 2 thats not what the op asked

actually the heat component isn't that relevant for many of the tires anymore - and certainly when applied to DOT tires. They might have some applicability when its really really cold out, but from room temp upwards, not anywhere near as much as before.. .

To all those claiming the Q3's as the stickiest tire - sorry, no dice. Its hard to say the Q3 is the "stickiest" tire when Dunlop's own people claim the GPA tires are better in traction than the Q3's. . . . that means the GPA is "stickier" than the Q3's within Dunlops own line and therefore something is better than Q3s even within Dunlop.

Anyone has experience with the Metzeler K3 Racetec?
I am going to try them out at my next change, as friends gave me big thumbs up on them.

Who is claiming that??

All we are saying is that for the price, for the street, they cant be beat.

Lets look at the OP's original question which is "stickiest tires available" with the OP's caveat "not concerned with warm up times, longevity, or price". So based on those parameters, the Q3 is "king of the hill" ??? How or should the Q3 even be in the discussion when their own manufacturer won't even put them as their best tire for race traction ?

AntiHero, since you have so much Panigale riding experience what is your preferred mode setting on wet roads
