My site sponsor section will be back up shortly but until it is ill post in this section.

When woolich releases the software I will be developing tunes for the stock v4, with slip ons , and with a full system. I haven't decided what full system yet but will likely pick the most popular one not named akrapovic. I am an akrapovic dealer but the v4 system is ducati dealer only and comes with an up map so that doesn't make sense for me to be the one I use

Here are my base line runs. Blue is 100% stock red is just changing the air filter to a sprint filter. Not bad gains for a 15 minute job. I expect more gains from the filter as the exhaust is opened up. I used the F1 P08 but my experience says the regular P08 makes the same power the f1 is waterproof and filters a little better

The stock filter was a clean filter with only 622 miles on it. No trick of testing a dirty stock one vs a new aftermarket one. Runs were 20 minutes apart both best of 3 runs

I also promise moving forward ill hook up the tach lead to get some torque numbers. I was not doing any tuning so didn't want to tear into the bodywork to be able to hook it up. I can estimate it in the software off of calibrating the dyno to the tach on the bike but it can add some inconsistency and when I start to move forward with tuning I want to make sure we are comparing apples to apples.

I have both filters available for 10% off , just use coupon code sprint10 on check out

for the slip ons that for sure is what it will be!! if you follow the link you will see im a dealer for them and have an amazing price on their slip ons!

Slip on tuning is not as critical to be brand specific. Header design is the big dictator of fueling requirements. any slip on that removes the cats and has a straight through baffle design is all going to be very similar in performance and tuning needs.

Vcyclenut,

I remember you from the R1-Forum days!!! I'm glad to see that you opened a shop, and looking forward to the developments on the V4. Do you know when you'll have the Woolich flash? I'll sure like to buy one from you.

Hello Vcyclenut,

I have questions. I noticed that the front header for the V4R and regular V4 is the same part (with the same part number), however the rear header for the V4R is different then the regular V4 (from the shape and part number).
I believe from the looks, the V4R rear header is a bit shorter and less curvy. This is when the V4R is in stock condition with stock exhaust.
From your experience, will there be a tune needed for the regular V4 if the rear header change to the V4R version?
Also, the V4R is the higher revving engine, but why Ducati decided to give the V4R a shorter header? Isn't a long header better for high rpm performance?
Plus, the shorter rear header of the V4R seemed not equal in length to it's front header, wouldn't this create imbalance between it's front and rear cylinder banks?
Last, if you tune my bike, will your tune also shows that "race evo" or something like that on the dashboard? and can we select what word that we want to be displayed (like to match the word the Ducati official Akrapovic upmap?)

Thanks

Would you be able to share where and how you connect the tach signal? I'm going to be dynoing my bike and it is unlikely any of the dyno operators around here will know how to connect the tach signal. This would be the first V4 dynod in the province.

awesome!! woolich says they are close and once they have the software ready ill then need to do some testing of the software make sure it works as it should as it will be a new product then ill start the tune for the stock bike and go from there. at least a month or two i would say

i dont like to guess on the header question, i would have to test it to give an answer. what makes sense isnt always what is true when you start testing, which is why testing is so important.

no the flash will just be for tuning it wont put words across the screen. at least no woolich software has ever done that before and i can image they would put the time into developing something that is more of a novelty then performance oriented

i havent done it yet. I am not sure where the ecu is but there will be 4 wires off of the ecu that go to the coils any one of them can be used. Its trial and error the first time. good news is all i did was remove the rear wheel speed sensor put the bike in race mode and put tc on 1 and i recieved no error codes while doing my runs

Thanks for sharing. I think many here would love to see the stock AFR curve.

Did you happen to log that during the runs?

no, the stock canisters have a sharp bend at the entrance and i could not get the tube down the exhuast far enough to get any kind of reliable reading.

once i have access to the ecu and can turn off the o2 sensors to keep from getting a CEL ill put my wideband directly in the exhaust and ill post up my first set of logs with the stock tune. I do most of my tuning on the road data logging in real conditions. This gives the best results and ill have logs of much of the throttle from it to post . It will be much better then just a 100% throttle run. Im also going to tune the front cylinders and rear cylinders seperatly. This will give the best results
