Came across these mods for the engine, basically SBK style intake funnels and injector adaptors.

I was looking for advice/opinions etc. from those of you that have experience with fuelling/intakes etc. and with race set up's. Mainly due to the dodgy/lack of an english detailed description, although it does suggest for race use only, could it be a worthwhile install? And I guess it also depends on if it could maintain day to day use?

If it's claims of 7% bhp increase are accurate and not likely to cause other issues it might be worth a shot..........

Having said that, my mechanical apptitude is more than capable, but I am by no means a race tuner. Looking at the injector adaptors they are obviously articulated with injector positioning being key and critical it's not going to be a simple install is it? That and a lot of dyno work too?

On the other hand, some of the more serious owners here my find these interesting.......

May well be of incremental benefit but I totally don't buy the purported 7% increase! With the very developed nature of modern production race engines I simply don't believe any single component can contribute a 7% gain. I'd say the exhaust and cam are likely the most important 'strap on'(hehe) mods you could make and I don't see them claiming more than a 5% boost each.

I think for this to work the air box needs to be modified as well .The standard air box is quite small and of course this will mean altering the inside of the tank .

I'm inclined to agree which is why I was asking for the advice. I didn't think it would be a small job either.

Thinking about it logically, why would the superleggera go through all the engineering exercises to get 200+bhp, when according to this just change the exhaust and fuel intakes and there you have it!!

Still, if anyone has some first hand experience of these, chip in :)

Doing some more digging on this......

(As Wilkson pointed out)

The fuel tank does need modification to make for a larger air box (which they also sell) to accomodate the injector/funnel upgrades.......... it's growing arms and legs!!

Guess it won't be a mod for me or a street bike set up.

A lot of times the exhaust AND airbox are limited because of noise regulations and pollution. Change them both and you have large gains.

We made a couple of different intake funnels out of CF to test. Our new kevlar sprint tank will have an increased airbox to maximize gains. Will try to get before and after numbers from the dyno.
