I just received my set of Supercorsa SC2, ordered with the intention of being my every day tires. But they feel like plastic when taking them in from 0 celsius. Is it å really bad idea, or will it work when the temperaturen come up? Or should I get warmers and leave them for trackdays?

I run SC1 front and SC2 rear on road and track. They do need heat in them to work properly. Tyre warmers are good as you are only putting the tyres through one heat cycle throughout that day, plus you can gun it from the start.
I don't ride unless the temp is in double figures but have never had any road issues

Just be mindful if you go out on cold tyres

I run sc1 front on the street with sp rear and after the front warms up it is heaven. save the rear for the track

Är du tokig? Norge & Sverige är ju alldeles för kalla och blöta för dessa däck på vägen.

I am running SC1 front and back. I felt a night and day difference from the standard tyre. I just warm them up first. Even with the OEM tyre I used to take it easy for the first 15 mins before I pushed too hard.

Sounds like we are riding in different climates so my experience will be different to yours. Its about 32 deg C outside at the moment. It would be rare for me to ride when it is 0 deg C outside.

I was at the Ducati dealer where I bought my bike from a couple of years ago, a guy had just bought a nice S1000RR, I watched as he rode it out the carpark turned onto the street and dropped it. The rear let go as he turned into traffic and gunned it. A salesman was near to me, he turned and just said "cold tyre" and then we ran over to help the guy pick it up. I always remembered seeing that and I am always careful on cold tyres.

TurboLag,

The Supercorsa SC2 is a full on race tire. Yes, they are legal for the street, but be aware that they will need more time to come up to temperature compared to the Supercorsa SP which comes up to temp quickly.
For street riding please keep this in mind. Think of it as riding on a racing slick that happens to have some grooves in it. The SC is the same tire used in World Supersport racing.

With that being said, the SC2 is an amazing tire. One of my favorite tires out there. I prefer the feel of the SC2 over the SC1. Same grip levels and the SC2 will last longer.

I am aware the SC2 is a race tire. But I never ride hard on the streets, and the bike sees track duty every thursday, so that's why I chose them. The SP rear is torn to shreds on one, maybe 2 trackdays if I'm not careful, si I wanted to try to see if I can get a tire with better heat tolerance to hold a little bit better. If I eat them up by running them on the streets I'll just get a set of SPs for my daily commute, and keep a set of SC2s for the trackdays.

Is there an echo in here ?

No problem to tare a new SP tire to bits on Rudskogen. Have done this myself when not using warmers. I suspect you havent either in this case? In between rides the tyre carcass become too cold and you get coldtear. Especially the right corner leading out on main straight is hard on right side. The surface on the track also seems very abrasive.

My problem was hot tear. Actually, the hardest one in my experience is the T3-T4 section (Angsten). Coming through T3 at high speed loading up the right side, then leaning more into T4 and throttle out. The final corner isn't that bad actually, since the entry speed is relatively low.

I ran SC2s in winter and had no issues (I tend to not drive like a maniac for the first 15 minutes, so I never had any problems with a lack of traction caused by cold rubber). It wasn't quite as cold as 0 deg, but it got close.
