Anyone track with the new 200/60 rear supercorsa, SPV3?

It is supposedly an SC2 compound tire in 200/60. If thats the case is the front on the V4 an SC2?

It makes me think you'd have to run a SC2 front with the SPv3 rear

Please let me know what you guys have experienced.

I think there is a V3 for the front as well.

Cheers

SC1 and SC2 front have the same compound only the SC2 has a stiffer carcass (better under more extreme temperatures or faster riders).
SC1 rear, more outright grip than SC2 but needs higher track temps to function or use an SC2.
SC3 think endurance tire less grip , probably works better in cold conditions. I haven't used the SC3.
After burning through many, many Pirellis, sorting through all the B.S. advice and good advice i'm now getting good results EVERY time I go out on track, (at least for my pace). Willing to share, if willing to listen.

Thanks for the advice. I'm quite familiar with Pirellis, having burned a ton on my previous bikes. Just acquired a 1299 mainly for street riding and I was more looking for recommendation on the fitting the new SC SP V3 which is 200/60 in the rear only, compared to the 1299 stock 200/55 rear SC SP V2. The diameter is much larger and it affects gearing to the tune of -1.5 teeth on the rear sprocket and I was concerned with clearances for chain etc.

Mind sharing any experiences with 200/60 rear on the 1299 if you have?

I have only ever run the 200/60. The tire clears the swing arm just enough to fit tire warmers . Obviously need to calibrate circumference. Could lower rear ride height a bit to keep std geometry . The 200 gives much more contact on full lean for track , go for it

What kind of gearing are you running to compensate for the larger circumference. Seen a lot of people laud the 15/41 setup but the 200/60 is so much bigger than the 200/55 it almost cancels out the difference to the stock 15/39 setup.

Wondering whether I should go straight for 14/39.

I went through 3 sets of v3's last year, mainly road riding (about 7500 miles) but with 2 track days as well.

I will say when I first switched to the v3, I didn't change anything else on the bike, and it felt AMAZING. I ride pretty aggressively on very well known (to me) mountain roads. The difference was immediately noticeable. Bike fell into turns easier, but most important, it kept a tight line on the exit of corners with throttle applied. With the track days I am a mid A group rider, and the v3's were able to give me that much more confidence on the bike, and I could push that little bit harder.

The chain will rub on the side of the tire if you don't keep up on making sure the chain is tight.

Overall I love the sc v3's, but they just don't last long enough for me for how much street riding I do. Even the v2's last longer but they don't come in the 200/60 size unfortunately.

I just mounted a set of Rosso 3's in 200/55 and raised the rear by 10mm to simulate the ride height of the 200/60. So far, it feels great but I haven't gotten to do my favorite mountain roads yet due to weather. I have scrubbed off most of the chicken strips though, and the handling does feel pretty close the v3's so far.

Hi, yeah I'm used to burning a 200/55 SC V2 in about 2500km so feel you. Sounds like I'll give the V3 a go. thanks.

I run the Rosso Corsa 3s on my SXV550 Supermoto and they are phenomenal. Although I run 180 rear there.

I run Rosso 3"s on my road bike (Streetfighter1098), and for cooler days they perform better than the Rosso 2's I like some tread for road surfaces.

To be honest I never factored in the circumference change. I'm choosing cogs/gearing to suit specific tracks. Actually going to 15 x 38
I have used 15 x 41,40. The 40 is a good set up, you can fit an extra link and run the maximum wheelbase with some adjustment left

You must be running some pretty fast tracks. The only large track in the country here gets max 260km/h and no really fast sweepers.

I think we're talking about 2 different Rosso tires. I run the Rosso 3 on my Monster too, but if you like them, try the newest Rosso Corsa tire. It's phenomenal. It's an in between tire of the Rossi 3 and Supercorsa.
