I'm considering buying superleggera pistons for my once-was-base 1199. Turns out they come in three specifications, labelled A, B, or C options.

Can anyone shed any light on what the possible differences may be ?

Thanks

The difference is in size (diameter). As the cylinder gets worn the piston needs to match in size. The rings will seal the rest but you have to match the piston with the cylinder.
IT is a very small difference between a,b&c.

Messure the cylinder and then by the matching piston. Sorry for My bad english... I'm a Swede... ;)

In Japanese dirt bikes the piston matches the cylinder IIRC . but what Jamiejames said is true the abc refers to very small differences in size . they are used in assembly to mate the closest tolerances between cylinder and piston. I'm also thinking that the pistons and cylinders both might be marked a-b-or-c (you might be able to look at your cylinder to verify )
