While actually at a track event I had a 40 mph low side (cold tires + dirty track) and I must say I TOLD YOU SO !! It's a good thing I had the full T-Rex sliders package installed and the slider performed outstanding and I'd say saved me possibly easily $10K in damages.

From day one I believed in this product and recommended it to you guys and now you can see for your self.

The only damage done was broken handle bar (come on Ducati !!), scuffed mirror, but not enough impact to snap the thing (thanks to clutch cover). Side fairing was NOT touched while foot peg snapped in half from initial impact...good enough to ride home had my handle bar survived.

Tank was untoughed !! AMEN :)

Rear RH tail piece was scuffed (unavoidably) but not cracked.

All 3 sliders on the RH side (rear axle, clutch cover and front axle) held up well.

WOW! Good story and save! You should write them w these pics and see how much love they can give ya man!

Question- what did you put on your Termi exhausts to make them black like that?

I threw up a little looking at those pics..... Glad they saved your bike from major damage...

Looks like stock exhaust to me.

Yeah I think there's a great team of guys at T-Rex Racing :).

My pipe covers were Ceramic Coated at home (baked in oven and all) and holds up believe it or not...You like?

Although the sliders did save your bike, personally I'd rather just have a crashed bike, especially one where the engine is the frame to be written off. I have one free claim on my insurance anyway, that's what it's there for. Cost of sliders + your time + devaluation of your bike now that it's been down, just isn't worth IMO.

Why would the bike be devalued? The damage looks like minor to me, easily fixed to "as new condition". The sliders did a good job, maybe time to get some.

Glad the OP is OK and that the damage is minimized. Are the pegs folding pegs?

haha funny you say that, just in case you forgot, this is Pani #3 for me sir ;-)... i'm not one to fix em, but I am absolutely amused and tickled that I installed these slider and can fix my bike for less that my deductible ($500).

I'm already up and riding and this crash gave me reasons to install new Driven clip ons and lever guards/slider which I've been eye balling lol.

Yes the pegs fold, but I think they didn't have a chance since the bike must had landed directly on them fisrt.

The bike is not devalued one bit, no one will ever know its been down...besides, I've never sold a car or bike in my life ;-).

2 bikes for sale, one that has been down and one that has not been down, pretty standard rule of thumb, bike that has not been down will sell for more.

Also, you don't KNOW for sure all the damage has been replaced. Swing arm/subframe could be slightly tweaked for example, that would not be visible.

Frosty you're absolutely right about unknown damages and that's the sensible calculated risk i'll take. Like I've said multiple times I don't normally fix bikes, but in this particular crash im certain there's no other damage...and in the even my crank case starts leaking in a few months or my rear tire starts to wear crazy due to bad swing are then I'll throw the bike out the back of a moving truck :).

These sliders offer the most support of surrounding components and the most protection of all sliders available for this bike...so if you choose to protect you bike in the event of a low speed slide or even a parking lot boo boo...this the sliders to get.

Just curious, would the insurance company have covered the damage if the accident occured on a track?

Every insurance company is different, I suggest you ask them.

Some of them will cover you as long as its instructional (riding school). That does not include your typical track day where you just ride what you brung, come out and play. It has to have classroom included.

yeah! Pani #3 because I ride like a Moto GP racer lol... j/k

#1 was a deer attack
#2 hit and run

...that's my story and im sticking to it ;-) hahaha

This is actually very interesting that you went with the same bike 2 more times.

Yup, without a doubt...infact with both replacements I had them home in less than a week of wrecking and before insurance even sees/picks up the wrecked one.

I don't want a S1000RR, nor RSV 4, nor RC8, nor MV.
