T-rex sliders

Ducati Forum

Help Support Ducati Forum:

I just installed mine last weekend. Took 4 hours going slow as I previously hadn't taken the fairings off. I also checked my coolant level while I was at it because using the window with a flashlight in a dark room was not happening.
It's a great set at a great price. I could probably do the install in less than an hour now that I know what I'm doing. The sliders don't get in the way much. It's just a tad harder for me to reach the kickstand to lift it up now. But that's nothing.
Also, the rear axel slider will come off in about 60 seconds if needed.

Excellent kit. I've been running the sliders for 1.5 years after I read at least 2 threads on here where 1199's were crashed and these sliders prevented significant (or any) damage from occuring, even during a track crash. Crashing is like rolling dice IMHO, but 2 first-hand experiences with the T-Rex product was enough for me to save the money over the more costly alternatives and get these. I dressed up the huge left slider with a reflective sticker:

Real nice folks to deal with over there.

Cant wait to install the kit!

These sliders are great. I had a lowside at the track earlier in the year and not one scratch on my fairing at all, see post 18 in the thread below....

One thing that I didn't realise until a couple of weeks after the fall is that I broke a steering stop on the lower triple clamp. Apparently this is pretty common as I have read a few threads on this site where these have broken from minor falls.

being a new rider to the Panigale, and sport bikes, and my riding being on the street so far,,,, would ya'll advise yes or no to the addition of this kit to my new bike?,,,,Any help and comment will be appreciated. thanks in advance,,,

Seems the kit works well in a crash. Price is great.

I say yes go for it.

Only issue I have with this is... it won't fit with the CF cover on the clutch cover... (right side)

I have the "frame sliders" and the front axle sliders.
I do not want to ever have to use them; but, plan for the worst and all that.
The only thing of importance that I would raise to perspective buyers is that if, like me, you have one of the early 1199 models, without the peep hole in the right fairing to view the level of oil, then the mounting of the right engine case slider prevents one from viewing the oil level in the engine without first taking off the lower-right fairing.
