After I had my 1k service and install of the Termi's I took the bike out for some fun, spirited riding (I drove the .... out of it). I guess I got it pretty warm and jiggled a bunch of screws loose because the header cover had basically lost all of its screws and was resting on the top of the headers.

The result, a very noticeable burn through to the outside of the carbon fiber (didn't even know this was possible). Ducati is replacing it without arguement but the odd thing is that when the dealer went to order the part there was a hold on the part number with a note that a new part and number was being loaded.

Has anyone else heard they were changing the Termi carbon fiber header cover and why?

Do you have a picture of your shield? Mine was just replaced about 4-6 weeks ago with the new bulbous cf heat shield. I have not heard of a newer one.

On the subject of not riding. My buddy up in Seattle who was going to buy a new S. Just found a 2012 ABS S with only 230 miles on it and paid $19,995. Nice
