Here's one for you... does anyone else notice that at exactly 83mph the bike (on smooth highway roads) has excessive vibrations? Drop down to 81ish & roll up to 85 and it's nearly gone.

Just wondering if this is unique to my bike; mine has always been that way.

Note that I did not say 88mph. If I said 88mph, I would clearly be trolling :D... serious question!!

Can't say I have noticed it. With luggage (tank bag & tail pack) at times I've had some vibrations/shake but I put that down to aerodynamics rather than geometry. I would have thought tyre pressures and tyre wear would influence it more - any uneven surfaces with worn tyres causes my bike to move around.

should not be a problem on smooth surface for all running speeds. sounds safety related so be careful and get checked

Does it happen while your are behind another vehicle? At the track, my Hypermotard would oscillate whenever it was in a draft.

Ok having lived in the USA and having a daughter that is born there......I believe I have a say, so here it is......if you dont like Ducati's f off, if you want to complain.... F off. you want to know why........... you why !!!!

Could be a lot of things.

I'd start with the easiest: check your tires for unusual wear and make sure they're at the proper PSI.

Check to make sure you still have wheel weights.

Check your steering damper. Lower it to the 'loosest' setting.

Make sure you're not low on oil. In older engines (not sure if this is true for modern ones, but I'll mention it just in case), excess friction and heat can sometimes cause vibrations in the chassis.

If all checks out/vibration is still there, take the wheels in to be balanced.

Front axle: Loosen up fork tubes + front axle. Retighten/retorque using factory procedure.

Wheel bearings + steering head bearings--check for play, replace if necessary.

Engine/chassis mounts. Could be that the engine itself isn't properly torqued to the frame and swingarm.

Whatever you do, go easy on the wheelies until you get this sorted.

I get a similar "shake" from my bowells around 83mph"”I .... myself (in diaper)

sorry to be such a party "popper""¦.:(
