Before I was born
My dad crashed his Vespa 150 3 separate times and the last time was a write off on the bike.... Unfortunately he was "too cool" to wear a helmet and suffered some serious head injuries that he overcame eventually...
Unfortunately as the months passed, he started to have insane de-javous that would cause him to get sick and throw up.. He was hospitalized and medication was administered ...

One night after hanging out with friends, he was driving home from a club late in the night / early morning and he saw a figure with a big hat, he claims the man had a huge top hat covering his eyes and he wasn't walking down the street.. he was floating just above ...As my dad passed this figure he looked in the rear view mirror but the figure had vanished...
Seeing this floating man would became a part of my dad's life in the months to follow.... He said that figure would turn up when he wasn't expecting it late at night... Then he would get sick and throw up

The only person who knew about this story was my mom and she says he never likes to talk about it...

fAst forward 30 years... When I was a kid, I kept on having the same reassuring and disturbing dream of a man who lived in our basement behind the furnace.. He had a huge top hat and I also couldn't see his eyes...

It is only recent that my dad's story has been shared with me and I shared my childhood recurring dreams to him...We both don't talk about it...

The ghost in this movie looks very similar to my dreams I had as a kid and most likely resembled the same entity my dad kept seeing..

I'd not heard of it until now,

Just watch the trailer though and it looks interesting, might have to find a copy.

I've read a few reviews about it. It's supposed to be frightening without relying on special effects.

If it makes any consolation I think it scared the crap out of Guillermo del Toro for w/e that's worth.

I kind of go off of rotten tomato score and it did very well there. When I watch i'll post up more about it.

I just watched it.

I didn't think it was very scary, very weird but not very scary?

Sounds like it might be real then . I'm away at the moment but when I get back I would like to help .

PA I can always rely on you to come up with great weird stuff. I have to watch it now.

BTW I just watched "the interview" now that was the dumbest movie I ever saw

Can't be dumber than a movie called Lucy I watched the other night . Hey Brad just had a epic day riding some roads in your neck of the woods . I didn't see a Babadook in my travels but I did see a real life cowboy.

Watched it last night, weird, but I don't think it was scary. The monster for some reason reminded me of the character from the movie Cloud Atlas which was Tom Hank's consciousness or something:
