What a thoughtful idea Phl !
This brings back memories of my father and I travelling through the columbian rain forrest.. We both only had a canteen of water, the shirts on our backs and the Donkeys we we riding…
We had raised both Donkeys since birth and both my father and myself had our own personal donkey that we always used to travel through the cocaine infested highlands…
It was last year, if memory serves me correct, and my father and myself went off course… We were lost .. no water left from our canteens and no food sources in sight..
Then to make things even worse, our beloved Donkeys died from lack of food and water…
Now dad and I were becoming extremely hungry and desperate.. Father said, "listen son, we have no choice, we must eat the donkeys in order to survive"….I was extremely torn by this suggestion because we had known our donkeys all our lives….Dad then said, " to make it easier, we won't eat our own personal donkeys, but you can eat my donkey and I will eat yours…
Even though this was still a hard decision to make, I knew it was the right thing to do…
That night my father and I ate each others ... and continued doing so till we were rescued….
When we were finally rescued, one of the rescuers asked, "How does it taste?"
to that I replied.."not bad, not bad at all… but some parts do taste ......…."
