Throttle response

Alright, so what does this mean for our jerky throttle beasts? Has anybody who has stripped the bike of emissions crap, changed exhaust, and/or had their bikes tuned noticed any reduction of this behaviour or is it just a feature? I seem to remember a thread a week ago of a member who had heavily modified their bike and found it stilll choppy.

It cleared up and its as smooth as it will get.

But we do have the nature of a 195HP twin. The trade off is less of a powerband then a 4 cyl which can give more control midcorner allowing for hard punch outs leaving a corner.

is it just a feature?

Now you're onto it;)
At this stage of the game, I don't think Jesus Christ could make it better.
DUCATI have probably got it on their to do list for the 1199 replacement.
Wait until it comes out, and see what the reviewers say before you buy it.

A fantastic article and probably a good reason to expect to put a power commander (or comparable) on future bikes.

I'll be taking ownership of a brand new 2014 KTM 1290 Super Duke R in the next couple months, and I hear the throttle smoothness is fantastic, though I'll be the judge of that.

I find that mine is smooth from 5 K on up but horrible at 4500. I also heard that a lot of this goes away once you put on the slips and the new map. We will see as it is in for the 600 and am putting on the exhaust now.
