Titanium washer replacement

I was changing the front sprocket and as I was tightening it down the “thrust washer” cracked into pieces.
I had some titanium so I had a friend machine it to the exact size of the thrust washer.
Will using the titanium in place of that thrust washer have any negative effects on anything else? Since they’re calling it a thrust washer I think that’s throwing me off. From what I can see, it’s only purpose is to keep the sprocket in place, like a wall.

Thanks.

It's to keep tension on the sprocket bolt. I finally ended up threadlocking that bolt because it kept coming out. Even after replacing the thrust washer with new and torquing to spec. Has too much potential to be disastrous so I felt the best thing to do was threadlock it.

So do you think replacing that with a titanium one would cause any problem?

Have always used safety wire there. Thats the method I had been taught. Positive retention and a visual piece of mind but I'm sure thread locker works fine and less hassle.

Nice! I like that method better. I'm a little worried about when it's time to replace the sprocket that the medium strength TL is going to be a ..... removing the bolt.

Ah yea I didn’t think of that, though I havnt had a problem with the bolt coming loose. I just wasn’t sure if there was something special about that washer Ducati uses compared to any other regular washer

Hmm I just remember the stock washer being a flat steel washer. I do not remember a retention bevel in it. I don't know a lot about heat cycling with LT if it degrades over time. Impact driver will get it out regardless. I think there was a post somewhere where the bolt backed out, don't remember the outcome but I can imagine some scenarios. Always been a fan of safety retention and using the marker paint on things. Lets you "pre flight" the bike if you will without much effort.
