To termi or not

Can't say about the 1299 but I have the full termi on the 1199. Without the baffles it's super loud and sounds awesome. Feels like a little more mid range and top end as well. I found a used one for 1600 however so that was definitely worth it to me.

In the same predicament as you are...stock pipes look great and sound great. The only way it's worth it to me is if the system opens the bike up. The bike doesn't feel restricted to me, but sometimes allowing them to open up and breathe better makes a big difference. I'm going to wait until I can ride/see a 1299 with a termi system before I make any decisions.

There were a couple of others on here saying full Termi is louder and deeper than full Akra...
...not that this matters...

They may sound similar at idle or low rpms but mid to high rpms, with and especially without baffles, akra mutes termis. Termis may be a tad deeper but the akras just roar.

Especially the new carbon and titanium cans with the front opening ports.

They look awesome. I am already saving my lunch money up for a set...

You won't regret - It took me 3 years to get around to the Termis - glad I waited cuz I love these. I swear the seat doesn't get as hot because the gases are more free flowing, and the exit isn't right under the seat.

Street or race bike?

On a street bike, I wouldn't worry with it. The pipes come out the very bottom and aftermarket pipes don't look much different. I know we know the difference, but I mean you could park your bike in front of the store now, then park it in front of the store with the Termi's, and nobody walking out of the store will be able to tell a difference.

Nobody needs an additional few HP on a street bike that already makes 180-190hp. Hell my Grom is a great street bike and it only makes 11hp.

If you have the money burning a hole in your pocket and need to spend it, then go for it. But personally, on a street bike, I wouldn't bother.

If this is a race bike, different story.

Have you had termi's on any other Ducati? I'm curious to know if they have improved QC issues

I had them on the 1098S and in all honesty, they seemed cheap. Not what I would expect for the money they cost.

They are my first - was a Kaw/Kerker guy before :) The quality is superb, finish excellent, design is revolutionary - compared to the old Termis and Akras. Akra copied Termis design, and since Termi changed it, I can't help but to think it will provide a better curve. The one marketing supplied certainly is better.
