Hi all ,I'm new here I need to find the torque specifications for the handlebar tube that goes into the triple clamp and also the clutch master cylinder bolts. Thanks

well first of all I called the dealer and they say that information is on a disk and not available to me and the mechanic may or may not give me the specifications,I'm not sure why do Kody holds that information so near and dear it's something that anybody in this situation should be able to have access to.

well thanks for your response I really appreciate it it's nice to know I have a resource to go to every now and then, even just to vent. thank you

From 1098.....

The screws securing the clutch master cylinder to the bar are M6x1 and should be torqued to 10 Nm in a 1-2-1 sequence. It's the same clutch master so the torque specs should be the same.

The screws securing the bar to the clamp aren't listed that I can find. The M8x1.25 screw for the "Clamp Bolt Securing Handlebar to Fork Leg" is 22Nm. I think the screws securing the bar to the clamp are also M6x1 and those are generally listed at 10Nm in the manual when the threads are tapped into metal and they're not securing plastic bits.

Don't know how much this helps, but it's what I'd use as long as it "feels right".

I believe there is a torque spec manual of the entire bike floating around here. Marknyc sent it to me awhile back which was a HUGE assist on his part! Maybe he can post?

private message me your email i will get you the torque specs. not all at once please

Thanks for all the great info and support.
