Have not had much time to ride the V4 yet but I am taking it to the Circuit of the Americas this weekend. How did you prep your bike?

You can unplug the tail/break lights with the plug under the seat. I understand you can unplug headlights under top fairing but I have not pulled mine off to try. I tried to find the fuse but just end up tapping them (first with blue or painters tape then duct tape). I have also added safety wire drain plug & caliper bolts.

Also for additional protection I have GB covers and axle spools front & rear.

If it's your first time to do a track day, you'll be in L1. I'll see you in class and be happy to help any way I can. Happy to share my settings with you as well. Grab a -1 countershaft sprocket if you can beforehand. Vito at Ducati Austin is the best.

And to the Canadians, come hang out at the black toyhauler trailer, my Canadian wife will have plenty of booze for after....

If you are looking for a little bit of a sophisticated option for covering your headlights and/or tail lights, TrakBrand sells light covers at a pretty reasonable price with an option of buying a 4-pack.

I'm so disappointed that I missed my opportunity to register for this weekend! It's been sold out for quite some time and Ride Smart doesn't like using waiting lists. Have fun gents. Hopefully I have a chance to go in the spring.

You can still register. I just did last night. Dave told me it would not fill so I did not worry about it.

Hey v4 trackday riders,

Planning on doing my first trackday on my V4 Base at Sonoma (not my first time on track, first time with this bike and a bike that I was not renting for the day) and I was hoping to revive this thread.

Does anybody have any good DIY Trackday Prep How-To/Checklist that they use for this bike that syncs with the common items required by most trackday providers? For example, I'm not familiar with how to disable headlights/taillights. Other than following the rules of the applicable trackday provider, do you have any bike-specific tips and tricks for track prep?

Thanks!

I would say get your suspension dialed in first thing in the morning. You can unplug the tail lights by taking off the seat. The plug for is on the bikes left side. You can take the whole license plate holder off with the three screws under the tail and unplug the connectors. The plug I mentioned before will disable all of those lights & brake lights. Also based on what others have said about how fragile the mirrors are I would take them off as well.

If you look on the right side under Forum you will see a track day prep thread that has a lot of great info.
