Hi All

Apologies if this is in the wrong forum.

I would like to get some feedback on the Five RFX Race gloves. Has anybody owned or own them and if so would you recommend them?

Cheers
Chris

they look fancy but have never used them.

The only downside seems to be the price $600, for that they should be the best gloves on the market and it sounds like with the GP and F1 folks using them they probably are.

did you see them on display in a shop somewhere in Sydney Chris ?

Hi

Yeah seen a pair at Dmoto in Castle Hill. Tried the X-Large on and the fit and feel is very nice. Just wanted to hear from any others that may have owned these and crash tested them.

Cheers

Mmmm looks like you can find them on Amazon for $315...

Have you looked into the Kushitani K-5188 GPR-6 Racing Gloves? They are handmade in Japan, amazing gloves! Ping me if you want the contact info...

I agree with NorCal re the Kushitani gloves. I've raced in Alpinestar, Held, RS Taichi, Racer and Kushitani gloves. Every single pair of these gloves, with the exception of the Kushitani's and Held, came unraveled or simply started to come apart in the finger and palm area.

In the Southeast, our humidity is extremely high combined with the heat. For whatever reason (i.e.-lazy), after a race weekend, I have a bad habit of leaving my wet race gloves in my enclosed trailer. This kills the gloves.

With the Kushitani's, they take the abuse. I had an old pair of Kushitani's for 5 years and I must have wrecked in them 3 or 4 times. They were scuffed and beat, but the fingers never came apart and the palms didn't blow wide open when sliding across the tarmac. TT Moto Gear sells them but they are out of stock right now in most sizes. I had a spare pair of new Kushitani's and when my Racer gloves came apart, which they did at Road Atlanta this summer, I pulled out the Kushitani's and after putting them on, I thought, "These gloves feel great. What the hell was I doing in those other gloves!"

Those Five gloves look super cool and I went to the web site and checked out the 3 approved U.S. dealer web sites but found nothing. They are in the same price range as the Kushitani's.

If you get a pair of Five's, please post up and let us know the good, the bad and the ugly. I'm always interested to hear about other guys experiences on here. Generally, you'll get some pretty good advice.

I ended purchasing these gloves after much debate over the price of them however after trying a pair on I have never felt so comfortable in a pair of race gloves like these. The fit and quality of these are second to none. There is a mix of different leathers and carbon fiber protection over the glove which make them feel very safe. After trying the dainese metal pro I felt the RFX gloves provided more protection all round specifically on the palm of your hands. I would recommend anyone to try these before purchasing other gloves on the market within this class of glove.

A very happy customer!

TL;DR Kushitani FTW :p

I crashed with the Knox Handroid gloves and they held up great. Very good protection Their built in Scaphoid slider on the lower hand/ thumb area took a lot of abuse and I would certainly have had a lot of damage done to my hands if not for that feature..

They got scratched up all over.. I flopped around like a rag doll when I high sided at 56 mph on Labor day 2015. The Pilot leathers, Knox "Handroid" gloves and SIDI boots all did their job..
I was definitely well dressed for the crash..!
