Greetings all from Victoria BC, Canada. Thanks for having me on this forum. I just brought home a brand spanking (smoking) new 1199 Panigale R after the tough decision to let my '05 999 mono go. Its been seven years since I've had a new bike and here I am doing it all over again. I look forward to hearing from you all about everything 1199 related. Cheers!

Congrats and welcome. I bought mine from Alex and and the team as well, even made the trip to Victoria just to get it from them. Class act.

Maybe see you around on the island sometime, I'm over a lot!

You won't be disappointed. I still feel like I cheated on my old girl when I traded in my 1098S :D

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new bike! The smoking should stop before your first service. Nice bike you traded in, but I'm sure you'll bond nicely with the R. Tell us your thoughts after you have some miles down.

Damn....somehow I ended up in a different forum than I thought I was in.

This is the Ducati1199.com forum ....right?

This is why I never post while drinking....sorry!! I'll try to find my way back.

Congrats on your new R. The jump from nein! nein! nein! to 1199R is a big one. Have fun!!!

Forgot to say congrats in all the confusion last night.

The R is awesome...not nearly as powerful as the Beemer(fugly) or as track-able as the Ape(meh)....so you'll just have to settle for pure beauty and the personal satisfaction that it turns heads everywhere you go.

And this starts already?

If we get to nitpicking now the 1199R tested by Roadracing World in the July 2013 (current) issue put out just shy of 6 rwhp and 7 lbs-ft of trq more than the 2013 S1KRR they tested on the same dyno. Of course with the full Termi system mounted that it comes with.

Congrats and welcome!

My comments were Definitely tongue placed firmly in cheek.

I could care less about the other bikes performance characteristics as I absolutely love my bike. I just find it funny how so many get caught up in a few HP they will never utilize.

The Ape just has too much going on visually.

All that said....given unlimited resources (or a generous benefactor) I would not kick either out of my garage.
