On my Tricolore, what is the easiest method to get to the lower triple tree pinch allen bolts so they can be loosened and then later, re-torqued? I will require space to fit a torque wrench (as opposed to only a tiny allen wrench). Is pulling the upper fairing required? What torque figures did you use for the upper and lower allen bolts? Thanks in advance for the assistance.

Thanks to all of you for the information. In regards to access, does the upper fairing have to come off?

Phil, can you tell me how I get to the lower pinch bolts? They are covered by a plate - does it come off, and how do I accomplish it? Thanks again.

i can't recall it completely, i think the plate and the horn assembly have to come off. also the little flaps between the plate and the radiator (the ones on top of the radiator, which are flexible) they are spring preloaded, you have to pull the pin out (to the outside).

Jim, its easiest to just remove the front fairing if you're going to properly torque them.

Once you've done it once its pretty easy thereafter.

Also, a 5mm drop in the front will have a significant geometry change - especially since you're 10mm higher in the rear already. You may have some high speed headshake issues (125+)
