Tune Boy Maps

Ducati Forum

Help Support Ducati Forum:

Can we send in our ECU for a tuneboy flash and also add the cruise control option?

If you have friend with the gear I think you could buy a license key for your bike and have the friend reflash your ECU. Is something like half price IIRC.
(Wayne to confirm)

Sounds like a plan, but you would have to go to Tuneboy or Rexxer to get that map:)
Then you still miss out on the wonderful aural experience as it's a noticable difference.
Not just in volume, but the real benefit is in tone/depth. Not to mention the weight reduction which is not insignificant.
The price of admission is worth it IMO:)

I was joking here, implying you don't need the exhaust, to get the same performance of the exhaust/tune, just buy the tune! I am thinking the hardware at least helps with the numbers!

In that case, anyone have the equipment near the DC/MD area and willing to tune with this Tuneboy map so I can have cruise control and a better tune?

Does anyone know if the Tuneboy setup allows the throttle maps to be edited?

the website is so lacking, the forum is dead. how can anyone make an educated purchase??

Wayne is preparing a full package for the Panigale. He was doing some testing on my bike on Friday for the phone app. He wants to make sure that everything is easy to understand and implement for the consumer prior to a full release.

Your first post on this forum is interesting. If you new the amount of time spent on developing the tuning ability for this bike you probably wouldn't post such comments. Whilst on the Tuneboy website you should have used the "contact us" tab to contact Wayne for information (yes that is sarcasm) instead of using this forum to unashamedly push your product.

Yes, just in case you're wondering, he's a mate of mine....

I tune cars with

HPTuners.com >> Performance At Your Fingertips

I would love more information on tune boy because I would love to tune motorcycles as well.....

does anyone know of an exhaustive feature list for tune boy? the website is so lacking, the forum is dead. how can anyone make an educated purchase??

The most substantial and up to date info has been posted by Wayne on this thread previously, the user manual I think is available for download from the website (but don't confuse the older system for Marelli ECUs with the newer system for Mitsubishi ECUs as used on the Diavel, MTS, and Panigale)
There are a number of vids on YouTube showing Wayne doing tuning runs on a MTS and other bits.
I used those sources to Make my educated decision.
My unit arrived yesterday and I am quite happy with the presentation. I will start the install in the next few days and will report on progress as I proceed. I am happy to answer what questions I can.

Hopefully it is the same one I purchased last week and has already shipped...

Fyi... I have a buddy that has the TB tune on his MTS and he loves it... so 1199 should be great too...:)
sounds awesome...as far as you don't run into trouble and need assistance. The 1199 package promises to be a great product, I only hope Tuneboy has put his act together when it comes to supporting his products, and this one sounds like is going to require serious technical support given the complexity.

I am pretty excited since it removes closed loop... I have been trying to solve the ride-ability issue under 4500 since I got the bike. RapidBike claimed to do so but did not. I felt it only added to the problem.

I am worried about this as well.

My plan is to take it to my tuner and see if he can work out how to use it. He has been tuning bikes here in SoCal for 20+ years and has a great reputation. He tuned my streetfighter and tuono and both were transformed.

If anyone is interested in how hard to use this isn't, they can have a look through the documentation.

Multistrada_Diavel_Panigale V2.0.pdf

This explains step by step how to install the modified maps.

We have trim maps for the Termi full system, the AR system (two of these) and we will have one for the Termi slip-on very soon.

If they have concerns about the way the product works they can have a look at the cruise control thread on the ducati.ms site.
The ECU on the MTS1200 and Diavel are almost identical to the Panigale.

Would it be possible to KEEP the closed loop system but modify the parameters?

Switching points, etc?

Can we disable closed loop, tune the maps in open loop, then revert back into closed loop to allow the system to correct for changes in weather, altitude, etc?

I like that there is a closed loop setup and wouldn't want to disable it, just tune it and make it work right....

How do widebands integrate into the TuneBoy system? Can I install widebands and log their output and correct as a % to the maps? ie. how does real time tuning work?

what is meant by "trim map?" I am not familiar with that, only a fuel map and/or an airflow map. trims are simply live corrections performed by a closed loop system, just trying to get the lingo down...

I am really excited at the prospect of having something I can really use to flash the ecu....I really prefer not to use piggybacks!

Thanks!

edit: it looks like the posted pdf is going to answer most of my questions.
