My 2015 1299S has the Tuneboy fuel maps and throttle maps installed and my question is has anyone had these installed maps wiped by the Ducati service technicians when the bike is connected to the service computer at annual services ? I have always asked to not have my bike connected in fear of having them wiped but is this actually a issue ? its been over 3 years since I installed the maps and I know I could just install them again but I am not computer savvy so would need to figure out how to install them again,

So has anyone had the tuneboy maps wiped from their 1299 during a service ???

Cheers

Brett

No but I had a tune in my Porsche and the dealer wiped it. I've yet to reload it.

I don't see a reason for them to reflash your ecu unless they are installing an update.

My very last dealership service on my 1199, driving home the down shift wouldnt work. Checked the cruise control and throttle maps and they were ok....

I reflashed the tuners backup file again and all good.

never been back to them again......

None of my dealer services ever affected my maps, but then again, the service manager is also a semi-pro racer and wouldn't erase anything he didn't have to.

Tuneboy does have a learning curve, even just reflashing in saved maps. I do it once a year, just to make sure I haven't forgotten every little step required to make it work properly.

slightly off topic but can Tuneboy be used to reset the service light on the 1299?

Yes, but you have to use the desmo reset rather than the oil service menu item. I haven't had the desmo service come on yet so I don't know if either of the resets works with it.

Cheers

It depends on what base map you loaded....

If you loaded the base map with file name has "Akra" in it, then you are fine, DUCATI DDS will not update your ECU anymore, since Full Akrapovic or slip-on does not provide any update. They are race maps for DUCATI. If you see "RACING" or "RACING EVO", you are 100% fine with the DDS2.0, it won't be wiped, or prompt you to update the MAP. DUCATI just don't update FULL or Slip-on maps.....

If you loaded with the base map "Panigale1299_00000803_Tuning_V6_7Tune", 0803 is a specific version number, this version gets updates from time to time, and let say if there is a 0804 coming out, when you connect with DDS2.0, you will need to update it in order to do global scan. (you can still avoid to do global scan, just use regular maintenance functions). If you update here, your tuneboy map is wiped, you need to reflash it. And if you chose 0803 base map again, it will create a loop, the ECU will be wipe next time you connect DDS2.0

Simple suggestion, just load "Akra" maps, and trim them to suit your mods....
