Just curious if anyone out there is running the tuneboy stuff (cruise control specifically) and the BSD race switches. I am 99% sure it will work the same since the switches use the same wiring as the stock buttons, but I guess it can't hurt to check.

Also, any comments on the cruise control in general?

Thanks

I am not sure about the BSD race switches. I would ask Tuneboy. I did post some comments about the CC in the Tuneboy Discussion thread.

see below my post

About two weeks ago I went for a 400 km ride after Wayne (Mr Tuneboy) did a custom tune on my bike.

Since I took it for a baseline run back in September I fitted an Akra system, a 520/41 sprocket and the new MWR filter. When then spent many hours flattening out the torque line around 5000 rpm.

I did not notice much just fitting the Akra, but I certainly noticed the noise increase while riding. I have written a post about that previously.

Now however I have noticed a really noticeable increase in torque from about 4500 rpm. It starts around there and just pulls like a train. Very linear is how I would describe it. The quick shift has been adjusted about 50% quicker than it was and this is a great improvement.

I did notice a couple of times that I was looking for an extra gear when I was in sixth. I think this was because I rode in an area which was much more open and allowed much higher overall speeds than where I normally ride. This is obviously due to the gearing change I did.

I am really happy with the result. I know not everyone has access to a custom tune, but I am sure you can get close with the supplied maps.

One thing on the cruise control. I at first scoffed and was not going to pay for it, but now I am glad I did. It holds speed to the km and is a great opportunity to give your wrist a rest on longer trips.

Thank you very much!

Seconded, cruise control is very slick. I sped the QS up as well, much better. The maps available are a definite improvement over stock, if you can get a custom tune it's well worth it.

Love the cc. And the nudge buttons are cool too.

So if you opt for just cruise control and not tuning, do you still get to pick a map?

No, standard map. I'd go for 'cruise and tune', it's not much more and there are more maps to chose from now. Also gives you access to reset the service light, change QS settings, fan also cuts in earlier in traffic.

oh, that makes sense.

But I was under the impression with the tune I need to do the o2 bungies and all that stuff, no?

Thanks!

If you're putting the bike on the dyno and creating a custom map then yes, you'll need the wideband sensors. If you just want to try different maps (trim files) already created by Tuneboy then you don't need to worry about it, you simply select the file and can flash it straight into your ECU.

My man.

I am sold!

Hopefully they have 899 maps (preferably with Termi).

Gracias
