hey,

i run a tuneboy with CC and custom maps on my 1199, i have been running it for around a year, at first i had a custom map done when the bike was stock, and then a retune when i installed my exhaust. i never had an issue with the tuneboy losing it's map and going back to original tune.

i didn't use the maps provided as i wanted a tune to suit my bike so i can not comment on how good the downloadable maps are. However i do know that some people have issue with tuneboy in terms of support. I am luck as my tuner has a good relationship with tuneboy people. The tuneboy software looks easy enough to use yourself and does come with an auto-tune function but again can't comment how good it is as i had a custom tune done

I've been using RapidBike for quite a while (mostly track miles) and the bike is a monster. Ive done 3000+ miles with the standard exhaust, then another 500+ with the termis installed. the power delivery is smooth and the bikes pulls hard up top. Customer service from Yaman and Cycle Pro is second to none, as other have confirmed on the board. Especially those from other countries who have ordered form Yaman. You receive a map that matches you mods on the bike, and the RB module tunes to the altitude, gas, and temps and how you ride. Cant beat that.

Bluebear,
I can't speak for tuneboy.. The rapidbike module is an amazing addition to the panigale. It auto tunes constantly. I have a big swing in temperature in my region ,the rapid bike provides a perfect tune no matter the weather, temp, ect.

The midrange dip is gone ,and pulls like a freight train.

I've been using tune boy for months and would say it's excellent
No additional modules or additions are needed and it integrates well.

In my opinion it's better than any system which manipulates signals to or from the stock ecu.

Plus it gives you full control to change parameters and reset service lights of you need to. True electronic cruise control for those days when you have long trips or commute plus clutch less downshifts are nice features .

You can also connect your android or iPhone to your bike to wirelessly make adjustments.

The only pain point is that you need to read the manual which is very detailed now(I've seen complaints from the past when the manuals weren't updated)

Tune boy has also incorporated feedback from users that have been raised on other forums and the system is vastly improved over the past year.

One more thing there is no additional module you need to add meaning there is no additional points of failure no wires to connect etc. no need to find a location for additional hardware(since we hardly have space on this bike already)

Good luck with your choice.

I met Wayne from TB and he is very knowledgable. I am going to get a custom tune from him now that I have the Akra fitted. Just have to find the time to do it.
The tune cannot be lost. It would be like losing the standard factory tune. It does not happen. You have to access the ECU via software to change something.

A typical example of people who do not know a product talking out their .... Your mate does not know what he is talking about. I do not know much about Rapidbike, just what I have read on this forum, seems to get used by a lot of people without problems. I just like the idea of TB because you are only changing the settings on the standard ECU.

Cheers guys. For reply I'll stick with Tb.. Only Cuz it's easy and cruise control..

Tuneboy does not go back to closed loop. That's the craziest thing I've ever heard. Been running in Tuneboy for 2 years now

Is there a way to back up the factory tune and restore it?

And I like my PCV with autotune and two wide band lamdas (will soon add the newly released ignition module too). :D

I am pretty sure there is. But you could always just go to the dealer and plug in and you will then get the latest update overwritten. Trauma I thought you were running TB on your bike.
