Hi All
I did not realise this forum existed, otherwise would have joined a few months ago. I bought a used Panigale 1199 S ABS about 5 months ago. Love the bike so far, I will use it mainly for track days, i have done 3 so far with no problems other than wearing a distinct band on the rear tyre. Will be going to Spain at the end of the month for 4 days on the track. Will let you know how i got on with that.

Just had the bike serviced at Cornerspeed in Sutton in Ashfield , excellent service and a reasonable price.

Not new to Ducatis, as i bought my first one 21 years ago ( 900 ss ) and have owned several since. The panigale is certainly the quickest Ducati i've owned and possibly the most handsome.

Will keep you posted on track day progress, and ( hopefully not ) any issues I have with the bike.

Thanks for taking the time to read this

Regards

Kev

Hello Kev,
Not far from me! Nelly has been my mechanic for several years , no one else touches my bikes ever!! Love that guy!
Check out 'around the world with an Italian super model' antihero will be staying with me perhaps we san all meet up!
Unfortunately sold the Panigale but have a very capable Pikes Peak
Welcome aboard

Oh I have front speedy moto sliders for front axle if you interested and a brand new exhaust (2013) as I had termi slip ons

I'm near, indeed, Duchess! I might have to bring my bike to Nelly, too....noticed a few shiny aluminum shavings on the swingarm after my last service.

In any case, welcome to the forum and congrats on your S!

I am not too far from Burton on Trent either, should be able to meet up when AntiHero is around. What a small world this is!

Thanks all for the very warm welcome.

DUCHESS
how you getting on with the Pikes Peak, is the Skyhook suspension any good. I have had a 1200 Multistrada for a couple of years , just the base model, but I love it as a road bike ( not sure I should say it on this forum but it's much nicer on the roads than the Panigale )
ANTIHERO
I was up at Nellys this morning picking up the MTS from a service, I don't know when you want to see him, but he won't be at work Mon and Tue coming, as he is on a Ducati course.

Anytime you fancy meeting up ( or anyone else ) let me know, if I can make , I would happily meet up, gonna be busy over the next few weeks getting the Pani sorted for Spanish track day, and then getting it down to near Brighton for shipping to Spain.

Regards
Kev

Ok - usually I meet my mates at Appleby Magna (McDonalds services) on weekends on the A444, that is not too far from you and the A444 from Burton to the Redgate Pub on the A5 is a brilliant road.

I am planning on going to Appleby Magna tomorrow and I should be there by 2pm for a cup of tea/coffee and meet some mates, feel free to come along for a chat.

Usually we all go out for a ride out on Sunday mornings from there but I have stopped doing that since one of my mates had a head on with an on-coming vehicle near Melton Mowbray on his GSXR-750, it is just not worth it. I stick to track days for now!

sup yo just got my 1199 yesterday loving the super bike. need to learn more about my bike so i joined this forum. getting rid of my 1000 cause gixxers are for teenagers lol.

Welcome. Go ahead and make your own thread and drop some pics of the bike for eye candy too. ;)

Sorry can't make it tomorrow. I know the road very well. If you meet up there regularly I will call up when I can. Do you use your Panigale for track days or the Kawasaki.

No worries mate, feel free to come down when ever you can - loads of friendly bikers show up at the Applyby on weekends and hardly any nutters!

I track both bikes when ever I can - the Kawasaki is the easier bike to ride and I am faster on it on most tracks and the Panigale on the other hand needs some getting used to and I am still finding ways to go faster on it. The only thing that I am struggling with the Panigale is the power, it just has too much power for most tracks in the UK other than Silverstone and the way it puts its power down is another thing that needs practice getting used to.

Did a recent track day with a mate on his R6 and he filmed his sessions and I am there in his clips, here is the link. Watch it directly on Youtube since it might not play here for some reason..

Donington Park FE 23 9 14 - YouTube

The first bit where he follows me briefly is from 2:36 onwards till he overtakes me during the warm laps and the other bit starts from 9:07 where I go past him - Enjoy!

Small world indeed! Sorry any delays in reply gave been laid up with a bug since my birthday on the 9th so catching up with emails ect

Multistrada no 4 for me. The fist 1000sds ohlins was comfortable wouldn't have raved about ohlins, then 1100 non ohlins brill never missed the ohlins, then 1200abs base brilliant bike suspension was fine. Now the Pikes Peak skyhook it's bottomed out couple of times but not had time to play with the settings yet seems comfortable enough. Most noticeable improvement is the snatchy throttle has gone the throttle response / fuelling is perfecto

Unfortunately, no ride for me today just abt to finish night duty and back on tonight although might ride for an hour and a half before the maddening crowd!
