A quick UK owners question....

I lost my tax disc today. Don't know where, and for £7 replacement it's hardly worth going back out the 60 miles to look for it.

Mine was located under the seat, but with the vibrations, the rubber has separated and the tax is gone.

Where is everybody else attaching them?

Al.

Mines on the screen. Always put it there, can"t stand those tacky bolt on disc holders, they are an eyesore.

Keep mine in a plastic wallet under the seat.

I know your supposed to display them but I've never had any problems so I'll just wait till I get pulled up on it.

Mine is under the seat too think DG put them all there. Usually keep mine in my wallet tho.

I do like it there as it's out of the road, but it's difficult to see and all the road muck covers it.

I'll pop into the DVLA tomorrow and pick up a replacement. Oh, and another holder.

Mines on the screen.

Same here. Not sure I really like it there, but it is out of the way of the rest of the bike.

I did see a possible other solution today. The tax disc was in one those plastic mounts and pinned on the back of the registration plate hanger. I am not sure how oil / muck free it would stay, but it does have some appeal to me. The disc on the screen detracts from the looks of the bike from the front, imho.

Mines under the tail same place as the O.P, not had a problem as of yet, but likes has been said its all on a database nowadays so im not too fussed if it goes missing.

I managed to get a replacement disc, and have bought one of the Oberon Tubes. After having a look about last night, the only place I could fit it was in the hole for the rear hangers, which leaves it pretty close to the exhaust pipe. There's nowhere else obvious.

I've ordered an Evotech tail tidy, so will move it to the same place as the pic in the link above.

Not ideal, but UK law states that it should be displayed.

The bike is unharmed
I cut the mounting ring from the holder so it just left the metal bar then cut a piece of old carbon fibre fairing I had lying around in a rectangle and sandwiched in in-between the bar and the holders end caps.
then took the screw out of the swing arm and slid the carbon bit under the brake lines guard, marked the hole, drilled the carbon and replaced the screw.

I added a couple of bits of stickey back foam onto the 2 screws (on the tax disc endcaps) to prevent scratching the swing arm and viola.

Image from underneath, I had to lighten it a lot to show detail so it doesnt look great

AH! I just noticed how thin your bit of CF is.

Nice work. May do the same myself once my tail tidy has been fitted.

My dealer put mine here on the bike, i have pushed it further round now so you can't see it at all.
