I have seen youtube videos of people installing the key by plugging it in the bike then turning on the bike (don't start) ,allow download to happen. Remove while bike is on and you are done.

I have also read that I must have a dealer install the up map key with the DDS system.

My up map key box did have a piece of paper in it that states "install with DDS system". However I am not sure what the DDS system is? Is DSS the connections to my bike? Is it a software that a Dealer only has?

Please advise. Thank you.

The 1199 would allow you to use the key to unlock the RACE or EVO map depending on whether you had the slip on or full system respectively.

However, the 899 and 1299 requires the (D)ucati (D)iagnostic (S)ystem that is used by the dealer to read and update your ECU.

When I installed my akro system on the 1299 the upmap needed to be loaded by the dealership.

Be aware it is suppose to be loaded for "race only"

I had one stealership not do the up map upload because I rode it in and it didn't have track fairings or safety wire

2nd dealership rode in on the bike and no issues getting it loaded. Call your dealership ahead of time just to make sure they will load it for you and not require you to tow the bike in
