Hey V2 fam, hope all is well. I’ve done some research on available add ons ( mostly protection) not much out there yet. Will add the performance list once I get my protection dialed in.

  1. NRC tidy tailA61E0089-E435-4162-817E-CB458C491794.jpeg I
  2. R & G frame sliders - love the aero style look. 5A4C1A9E-8210-4B32-8772-94EEF5221AD7.jpeg
  3. Tech spec x-line tank pads ( do not recommend) I’ve asked them to replace with the snake skin(link attached) These pads hold on to debris. Unfortunately the ones I received had this white lint on them. Hard to remove and looks like .....DB9441C1-9483-42F9-A4D1-9356D1B0CA8B.jpeg
  4. R&G Dashboard screen protector kit
  5. R&G radiator guard
  6. R&G carbon fiber tank sliders
  7. R&G fork protectors
  8. R&G bar ends
  9. R &G carbon fiber tail sliders

Here's what I've modded to my Panigale 959 without regrets:

Performance:
SUPERLITE 520 Pitch Chromoly Steel Front Race Sprocket 14T (-1F)
Pazzo Short Folding Levers
RapidBike EVO Fuel Controller
AntiGravity YT7B Lithium Battery 320 Cranking Amps
Sprint High Flow Air Filter
Throttle spacers
Exhaust valve disabled and servo removed
Ducati Performance Racing Seat (doesn't slide)

Protection and Aesthetics:
Ducati Performance Lower Radiator Guard
Evotech Fender Eliminator
Carbon Fiber Exhaust Heat Shield
Carbon Fiber Front Fender
Panigale Heat Shield Kit

Here's what I've modded to my Panigale 959 which I would not repeat:

Front and Rear Axle Slider Kit (totally useless unsprung weight)
R&G Engine Sliders ( they're expensive and will not protect your bike if dropped). Your mirror and clip-on will take one for the team.

Words to the wise: always park in gear.

Almost forgot the most important accessories (if you don't have them):
36mm Socket
Breaker bar
Pit-Bull front and rear stands (don't go cheap and they don't depreciate much). Unless you plan on servicing your forks, you don't need the front head-lift option (which you can buy later).
The stands will pay for themselves in two tire changes.

good call out. Can you explain why this is important?

I like my NRC tail tidy and the throttle spacers were the best mod yet! I got mine from this forum also. As a small business owner, I’d rather support the little guy vs the more well known company

I’ve done the same li-po battery on mine and was looking into the 520 conversion. Is the change in tooth count preference? I’ve heard it recommended but don’t really understand why

Sure. You're going to go through a lot of tires.
The dealer will charge you perhaps 2 hours of labor (at a $125/ hour) if you bring the bike in for tire changes.
However, just mounting tires on a rim is about $15 a pair when it's off the bike (when I buy from my accessory dealer) .
His tire prices are also much better than my Ducati dealer.

Moreover, you need stands to clean / adjust your chain and clean your rims.

All Ducati's are geared long. Too long in fact.
I have done both the front (-1F) and the rear (+2R) on different Ducati's.

Here's my take:
Generally speaking, -1F is equivalent to +3R.
If you want to go cheap, go -1F as you don't have to replace the chain. Good for a new bike and to gauge if you like the mod.
+2R is better (and a sweet spot) if your chain and sprockets are halfway in their lifespan (15~20,000 kms).

The 959 is already 520.

Front and rear stands are also a must ( in addition to servicing ) to keep the tires off-the-ground duing winter storage for those of us not fortunate to ride year-round.

Minor correction:
The 36 mm twelve pts socket mentioned previously was for a 959.
The Panigale V2 Single Sided Swing Arm would most likely be the larger 55 mm typically used on the other Ducati's with a SSSA.
Buy a "steel" socket tool as you will need to torque the rear to 230 NM and one where both socket sizes are on the same side as it's a better fit for your breaker bar or impact wrench.

Hows the heat shield working for you? I rode in 100 degree weather yesterday, Simi Valley to South LA and I was dying..

Made some changes, getting carbon fiber lever guards instead of bar ends. Seems like a two in one solution. Finally had the throttle spacers install, a MUST HAVE.. I rode in 100 degree weather yesterday from Simi Valley down to LA and was dying from the heat. Heat shield is on the list as well. Any recommendations out there?

  1. NRC tidy tail (Installed)
  2. R&G Dashboard screen protector kit
  3. R&G radiator guard
  4. R&G carbon fiber tank sliders
  5. R&G fork protectors
  6. R&G bar ends (Removed) decided on carbon fiber lever guards
  7. R &G carbon fiber tail sliders
  8. Throttle spacers-purchased on this forum (Installed)
  9. Brake reservoir cover (installed) - dealer gave me one for free - amazon link for purchase
  10. Heat shield (TBD)
  11. Rear stand (TBD)
  12. Slip on exhaust (TBD)

The heat shield set was only a marginal improvement. The seat was a better improvement.
Best is to stay away from riding jeans and don your leather pants. Also manage your ride to avoid Stop & Go situations.
The heat issue becomes a non-issue when you add-up all of the above.

Def agree on the seat instead of the shield. Heard good things about the comfort seat and how it handles the heat

Big fan of the Techspec snake skin pads.

Yessir, washed once and blown dry. Happened first week on my 1299 too. but good news is Futurismoto has product back in stock again.

Other solution is to bug Podium racing for pet numbers & order all new fasteners. I just question how NRC can keep selling ...... fasteners. No riding in the rain with these
