Hi Guys,

I recently did a stupid thing by adjusting the retainer spring of the M6 bolt too harshly (10NM) which is within the range, I have no idea how the bolt breaks off. Well now is stuck inside the clutch hub.

Then when on using speed out to and the drill got stuck in there as well. So I decided to drill it out and this happened.

Anyway, I had to order a new PLATE HOLDER HUB (FCC) and I am wondering about the torque specs for the nut that holds the HUB, any anyone has any ideas?

I found a torque spec manual that does not have anything regarding this.

Please help.

Might be a good idea to have the torque wrench calibrated, 10 Nm shouldn’t snap a M6 bolt

For something as light as 10nm, I wouldn't use a torque wrench. I'd use a T handle so I could feel the fastener. When something is about to strip you can very much feel it, but the torque value would read very low leading you to keep wrenching.

It's maybe 7.4 ft lbs. That low, it's a do not exceed value more than a minimum.

Get a small torque wrench, they make in low ranges them for a reason. One technique that works for non digital wrenches is to set them at about half torque and increase in several increments to make sure the detent is working.

Thanks for the advice, i'll try it when the new clutch hub came in lol.
