I'm experiencing some hand numbness on long slab rides like highway riding on my right throttle hand. My left hand is usually on my knee or something during long boring stretches like this.

This happened with stock barends and also now with SATO barends.

Happening to anyone else?

welcome to Ducatis brute vibration, everyone who has a duc experiences this

Check your gloves. I had a pair of Racer brand gloves any the scalp hood protection sat on the base of my palm and transmitted the vibration right to the carpal tunnel. It didn’t bother me at the track, but in the freeway it happened every ride. I bought a different pair of gloves for street rides and hasn’t been an issue since.

This might be it. Both my gauntlet gloves and short gloves are Racer brand. The idea that I might have to switch it out is hurting me inside right now.. i love these gloves.

What did you switch to?

I ride with held gloves on the street. I still use my Racers on the track. The held don’t have the plastic sliders but a synthetic stingray in the palm. I like my racer gloves also.

Interesting.

I've had a 1098, 1299, S4Rs and Sport1000 and have not had throttle hand numbness like this... And i thought the V4 has been the smoothest out of all thoes bikes.
guessing you are at the age that you feel it now but gloves may help the issue but doesnt solve this issue.

I have found holding the grips with my thumb and forefinger, while wiggling my other fingers, seem to help with recirculating the blood back there.

For vibration, upgrade your bar ends mate. Get some heavy ones and it makes a huge difference. I'm surprised no one has mentioned it in this thread already.

Personally, I use Evotech bar ends with a lever protector for the brake, though there a tens of companies that make them.

My throttle hand goes to sleep as well. Its not vibration related, just a lack of movement. I pull the clutch in on a straight section of road so I can get my hand off the throttle and get some blood moving through my fingers

Try balancing your front tire again

i had an issue like that

Stock tire silky smooth

set of slicks vibrated like hell

back to a set of supercorsas and silky smooth again

think my slick tire had a balancing issue

I commute 80km a day (2:1 highway:city). I put some stomp grips on which helps me take some of the load of my hands. We're in summer here, and I'm wearing thin dry-rider gloves. It's not as bad in winter with the thicker gloves.

Gloves that bunch up in the palm make it worse for me.. Actually found a pair of thin fox racing gloves with carbon knuckle. They fit tight they're thin, but used only for street only

Before you trying out any of the other suggestions, just get a new set of hand grips and see if that helps you. My hands would hurt after 15mins of riding, so I changed to the Pro Grips that come on the Speciale and I never had an issue again. Plus they looked pretty nice, too!
I think they were under $30AUD, so not expensive at all to see if this will fix your issue.

Coming from inline 4, this is a dream on the v4!! Bar end canceled out high frequency vibration from the engine. Doesn’t mean it only exist on high rpm. So I would try that first, the Dampen with foam where it can absorb high pitch frequency

I've had a lot of bikes over the years and it really seems to depend on the particular bike. Some have been just awful as far as hand numbness. I think it's a bike to bike thing and not necessarily a model specific thing, although the high frequency vibes are the worst. I actually sold my mv f4 because of this issue. Bar ends, different grips, gloves, etc etc. After 15 min my hand would be numb and made for a horrible ride. Having said that some of those mods did help slightly so they are worth a try.

+1 for bar end weights. You can pick them up cheap and some come with sliders so you’re killing two birds with one stone.

I have had the same problem with hand numbness in the past. I was gripping the bars too hard and that does things like restrict blood flow to your fingers and sends signals to the nerves which ends up in tingly or even cold fingers. I thought 'what the hell is wrong with me' a few hours after I came from a ride years ago with a cold and numb little finger before I knew what the cause was. It can be very off putting but just relax on the bars, I still catch myself out now gripping the bars too hard
