Just wanted to put out a warning to stay away from these bolts. I tried to remove one of them and it wouldn't come out. I had to have someone remove it from the frame. The bolt heads are super small, very soft and ever bolt rounded off installing them. If you are to buy any frame bolts buy Proti, the bolt heads are 4 times the size of V4Evo's and you can torque them to Ducati specs.

If you are looking for titanium bolts. www.podiumracing.com has great titanium bolts and the costs is way less than Proti. I have their bolts and their titanium axle on my bike.

The stuff from Podium Racing is Chinese junk. PROTI is forged Ti and even comes with a certificate of origin if you ask for it (this is mandatory with aerospace grade Ti).

Really? I never knew that. I never had any issues. Then again I only used their black titanium bolts for my fairings and windscreen and then used them for my rear swing arm where the two bolts are for adjusting the chain. But replaced them with the bolts from the oversuspension and I have their titanium axle. Thanks for the info. Last time I am recommending them now that I know

I have been using Racebolt and now have switched over to TI64 which is hear in the states. Ill post some pictures of the difference between the 2 frame bolts. I haven't had any issues with Podium Racing stuff but I don't buy the little bolts though.

Ti is like dating…

Anything above grade 5 ain’t gonna be cheap : )

Have to agree with Rogue on this however I’m also guilty of using some of their parts in critical areas (swing arm pivots, front axle) front axle seems fine. It’s sized correctly and fits well. Until it snaps, I won’t have an update on it’s structural integrity.

Swing arm shafts, never has an issue with them except for wear in the drive side which is to be expected. I did find some of their Ti a bit soft when I went to machine it at least that’s what the tooling told me. Is it Chinese, probably.

I like the ProTi stuff but I’m somewhat phobic when it comes to internally wrenching fasteners and Howard uses their stuff exclusively on his living room racer so for that reason, I severely limit my exposure to them.

Other than that, racebolt, Mettec, TiShopp, Ti64 bla bla.

Same here had ran alot of the Racebolt stuff years its ok but on soft side and start getting above 10mm they just don't have it. Ti64 does so had ran the 14mm stuff from them on the 99 shock link till recently but anything 10mm under switched most of the resources over to ProBolt which is made in the UK also most the race teams in the USA use everything from ProBolt its good quality and prices are ok.

Tensile strength is the all important property here. I had a specialist engineering company make me up some stainless steel frame and lower suspension bolts for my V4 build project and the first thing they asked me was the torque settings these were going to be subjected to. 90nm for the frame bolts and 120Nm for the suspension link bolts, IIRC. If you go with a lesser spec, you run the risk of stretching the bolts, not a happy place when you are dealing with safety critical items.

Titanium for street use falls into "because you can" not for any significant weight savings unless you have a massive budget. I prefer steel in critical areas but if you were to spend up large on titanium then its worth paying for the best quality you can find.

Those two bolts are interesting, my pick is the one on the left with the rolled thread.
