I’m looking for a set of tank pads that I can fit on my bike and offer protection and grip for track days. There seem to be a bunch available but feedback is really mixed on every one I’ve researched - Either they look poor or the adhesive fails!

It would be interesting to take a vote on what people are using and their general feedback. I’m sure it would help a lot of the new owners as these are good upgrades for those wanting protection and rider grip performance.

I just switched from tech spec to stomp grips and really like the ability to feel where my leg is in the tank. Grip is great with tech spec but I prefer stomp grip now as feedback gives me confidence of my hold.

I put R&G on last night.

They aren't cut right for a 2020 S Had do do some creating trimming. Glue seems to be of a decent strength, but it will take awhile to know if it holds long term.

I was going to go with Stomp Grip, but wanted to use the R&G boot guards. The difference in look dictated I use R&G on the tank also.

R&G pads have most coverage and good medium-level grip both for track and street use, yet they come loose at the curved edges. Even my second - by R&G under warranty replaced - set now dealer installed, comes partly loose again. I’ll install the newly for V4 Streetfighter introduced DMH grips in black instead soon...

So over the weekend I rode about 200 miles, and while the R&G felt great I am replacing them with StompGrip clear. The R&G just keep peeling.

I have the eazi-grip clear. They have been on for a year and are just as tight as the day I put them on. These bikes are so much easier to ride with tank grips.

I have Snake Skin Tech Spec on both my BMW's and had the Xline Tech Spec on my 1299. I wasn't to fond of how the Xline Tech Spec looked of felt. So I removed Xline of my 1299 last October and replaced them with the Luimoto tank leaf tank pads. They look and feel great. A bit pricey but not so bad at dealer cost. Here is a link showing what the Panigale V4 Luimoto ones look like. They also make great looking seat covers and gel inserts for your seat. I have them on my bikes. The gel inserts feel better than any seats Ive owned and sold for these bikes. Sport Tank Leaf for the DUCATI PANIGALE V4 18-20

Can you please share pic of the pads on bike - especially the one that comes in the middle of tank.

I found stomp to be the best in terms of adhesive and grip. If you are considering R&G then make a template out of a few layers of masking tape and just go an buy some 3m anti slip and make your own custom. Plenty of grip levels colors etc and an enjoyable project.

Contrary to the transparent V4 version, the black ones were many months in back order by DMH.

Today I finally made some time to install them.
Strangely needed to trim the 3M adhesive first. Sticker material was overlapping all 4 rubber pads by almost 1mm?!
Anyway, after doing this they look good and grip nicely. #like

So here is something that may interest racers and track riders... not a V4, but I’ve switched from StompGrip to TechSpec, AND to address the very narrow tank on the 1199, I first laid down some closed-cell seat foam that I had cut to the pattern of the TechSpec pads, glued that down to the tank and then put the TechSpec pads on top. A HUGE difference in grip and stability, especially when hard on the brakes, and of course, in corners.
I like the StompGrip pads as well, I just thought they’d be a little too aggressive when combined with the additional width of the 1” foam pad underneath.

I've had R&G tank grips for a hot minute now. They've held up well and are great for leathers, not so sticky with non-leather materials though it seems.
