Regarding the first video:

Ok... I'm in my 40's, I consider myself mature, past my rebellion years and a bit of a take-it-to-the track SQUID snuffer...

But...

Freaking awesome.

Worth it.

The bikers were definitely wrong for running and going the wrong way on the ramp, very dangerous. But two wrongs don't make a right either. Police officers are held to a higher standard to make correct judgement/ethical decisions and it was COMPLETELY wrong for them to try to hit bikers with their cars.

This is the kind of thing that gives all people who ride sportbikes a bad rap. The stunting they are doing is impressive, but for gods sake find an empty parking lot somewhere, doing this on the highway is just stupid.

Yeah, we all used to do dumb stuff like that years ago, wheelies on the highway and running from cops. But when you have a family, career, and mortgage, that kind crap has to go away. Can't really tell my kid too much about being responsible when Daddy is doing wheelies down the highway.

This happened in my "neighborhood" and defintely stopped traffic. There were thousands of bikes, and the police went after low hanging fruit like licensae plates, etc. 1 gun was found a few drug arrests. But considering how many bikes, and no non-participants were injured, only inconvienced, it was a good event for the riders and public.

A low speed collision with a bike is within reason. At most the cruisers were going 5-8 MPH. LEOs are sworn to preserve PUBLIC safety, NOT the safety of those who CHOOSE to negligently operate their bike going the wrong way and elude arrest. This could be a felony in my state.

I live in the St. Louis area, and every year they have this "squidfest". First how can it be the "ride of the Century" if it happens every year? Next this is nothing but a "squidfest". There are so many bikes and so many people doing burn outs and wheelies on the highway. Every year someone crash's and they cause major traffic issues, the cops confiscate stolen bikes, and there are drug and weapons arrests. It just makes all of us look bad. I am offended to be asked if I was part of this. Yes there is a bit of skill in what they are doing, but take it to, or set up an event on a closed course and charge for the display of skill. I am a racer, and I always enjoy when these guys come to our race/track days. They are the ones that hammer it down the straight, but as soon as a corner comes up they are all brakes! It's fun being a 50 year old guy and stuffing a squid up the inside in a turn!!!! Sorry, rant over, now back to our regular program!
