This past Sunday, I met Pedro from this Forum and we went for a ride out the Old 94 to Lyons Valley Rd to a few others I don't know the name of. Luckily not too many cars for a Sunday. Used my new GoPro 4 SIlver at 2.7k 60fps. Not sure why I used 2.7k resolution since I have a 1080 led tv and even less on my laptop haha. Think it made the battery die sooner.

Please forgive me on some of the shots where the damn GoPro is aimed too low. I'm still dialing the height in and helmet location. And I kind of overdid the slow-mo part of Pedro's mini-highside, which he saved!!. It's a bit long at 6mins too haha. Pedro's incident is at 3:10 mark. Any feedback would be nice, and try not to beat me up haha.

Did he change his maxishitpad after the incident?

It's always good practice to ride up and down the road at a very slow and non leaning pace and just inspect the road. Can't tell if there was a slick spot but it was in a shaded spot which could have been oily or just dirty. Who knows. Luckily he saved it. Not that you guys were even riding hard but this is exactly why I don't try n push it through the canyons or on any public roads. You just never know. That and plus I'm not that skilled!

Filming friends without scoping the road conditions out first is always a recipe for drama. If there'd been an oncoming car around that corner then that's all she wrote!

From video it appears that he is riding in the center of the lane, where oil/anti-freeze will build up. And the center of the lane looks uneven....he should think about riding on the left or right of the lane:D

He recovered pretty fast actually. He caught his breathe and we got back to 75-130mph pretty soon afterwards haha. It's just so effing fun on this bike to go fast on a nice San Diego backroad :D

Scoping the road out first is always a good idea but when we were doing a 60mile stretch so I guess we're assuming a certain amount of risk. Pretty nice road for 98% of it. Plus he has experience on this road and has never had an issue. You live and learn.

Can't wait to get the triple clamp mount for the GoPro to record out the windshield. Anyone get one that is not a Chinese piece of ....??

He just killed himself, but got away with it because no car. I thought that looked like the San Diego area, nice riding out there in the dessert. It's really nice at night with a full moon rippin up those dessert roads.

Looked more like a turn-in, decel slip to me. Unloaded the rear over a small patch of dirt from the looks of it. Careful out there!
