A marvel and a wonder.
I used to have an apartment in Hong Kong - I went to a "motorcycle shop" in China across the river. They had track suits and all kind of riding gear super cheep. I thought, woah, let's go see.
.... was made of vinyl. TRACK SUITS MADE OF VINYL. bwaahahahahaaaaaaa.
I told the shop kids, you know what would happen if you slid on pavement with that?
They said, that's ok, because "motorcycles are illegal in southern China anyway."

I stepped backwards out of the store slowly and went back to California. I've been to China 38 times and I have never ever not been totally shocked amazed or both by what I found. Sometimes marveling in the beauty mystery and culture, sometimes completely horrified and shocked. Sometimes it was just really spicy food.
 
I’ve had the best (just killed in front of my eyes) chicken on the side of the road in Shenzhen... but heck, what they pull off sometimes...

AHAhaha I used to love to get yams roasted in steel drums by the side of the kite park at Lianhuashan. I figured, 'ok it's coming out of FIRE, it'll be safe.' I got sick so many times there.
The weirdest things is, I brought some guys from Shenzhen up into the Sierras to stay at this resort at the end of the Earth 8500 altitude. Water in the faucets was coming right off the mountain, crystal pure amazing water. All the Chinese guys got sick. Just different bacteria I guess.
Those were some great guys, we made some pretty cool projects together I have to say. Chinese people can be amazing, kind, selfless, even smokin' hot babes there. They can also be ruthless, etc. Crazy place. There is certainly every shade of gray there.
