I've always been one who starts the "off topic" threads and discussions here on our forum in an attempt to break up the normal tone and perhaps learn something in the process. To some its worked well and taken off, and to others its now done a damn thing, not even getting 1-2 replies from folks. Figured Id try another time to see who's into this subject. Watches!

How many watch freaks and lovers do we have among all the hardcore truck enthusiasts within out forum? Do the two go together? Yeah maybe, maybe not. Figured id try since I just started to become a small collector myself. As usual I like the bigger "manly & testosterone" filled types of watches with many features- just like my truck! LMFAO !!

So how many amateur watch lovers and collectors do we have here? Hell- even the typical Casio digital counts and of course we all have had an Irnonman or G-Shock back in the day haven't we? BTW - take a look at todays G-Shocks and you may be shocked at how far they've come too!

Just bought myself this Carbon Fiber Case (Go figure) and these time pieces are on their way to me as well. Found some fantastic site owners along the way who have helped with the purchase and price too! Here's what I have so far and what I am shooting for too:

The CF Case

Volta Winders

-Fave daily worn piece is the MTM Titanium Silver Vulture (Great Site)
MTM SILVER VULTURE

-Incoming this week

Reactor 55903 Poseidon SS Limited Edition

Reactor 72501 Meltdown Carbon Fiber

Lastly, this one (or its previous 2004 Model) I bought before deploying to Iraq in 2004 and Id have to say came in VERY VERY handy since I used it and the digital compass features to assist in calling for Artillery fire to help save our ..... when we had a flat tire on a convoy and was sitting on side of road like a carnival target! Of course we had the military GPS equipment but this was my first reaction and it actually got rounds on target super fast for us that day! Solar powered too meant there was NO WAY Id run out of energy for this item over there! Doesn't get much wear anymore but no doubt is a classic story teller!

So thats enough from me for now. Anxious to see if anyone else here has the same appreciation for time pieces and would care to share with the group? I realize you can truly wear just one, but like any other hobby it has some things that distinguish you from others - kinda like truck mods right?

Lets see what you all got - or maybe nothing at all??

Gunny Out...................

BTW- I know a member who can put us ALL to shame when it comes to a collection of SERIOUSLY HIGH END watches!! Will he post some?
Please brother. Show us some of your reserve collections and educate us on this unique culture! Im trying to learn from YOU on this one man!!

I was able to finally get the watches that I have wanted all my life... I am set...

First one I got some 10 years ago was the TAG Heuer Carrera

tag_carrera_medium.jpg

And two years ago I was able to get the Breitling Navitimer World

dsc01636.jpg

I have a few other, but those two were the ones that I have always wanted and never had the money to buy... finished paying off the Navi a few months ago... I am set... finito... now to put scratches on them, lol.

Wife gave me a Omega Speedmaster Broad Arrow 1957 as anniversary gift... but it sits in its box.

Pretty watch, but I just go those two mentioned above, every time...

I have a Technomarine UF6 Magnum, a couple of Movados, Porsche Design (GT3RS watch in black and orange), a Citizen Eco Drive...

as far as expensive watches go - i'm a bit too cheap and destructive for these :D

I want these 2 then im set

What is the second watch on your photos?? Can figure out what it is. Looks very cool...

I would not mind a few more... it is like shoes for women... but I am set (see how I am trying to convince myself not to buy anymore watches, lol)

Love how the IWC Portuguese Chronograph (or the Portuguese Yacht Club Chronograph) looks and feels. Tag came out with a similar style, the Caliber 1887... a beauty...

Love the looks of the Citizen Primo Stingray 620 with that perforated black and red leather strap...

I am done... done I tell you...

Very impressed !!

I want these 2 then im set

As a MTM Owner its not everyday I see someone with one, or who knows of them in depth.

The 2nd watch he has is a NEW release (not really even being sold yet) from MTM and they are telling anyone interested in one of those that they are NOT for the public at all. Its a watch with very rare abilities of reading radioactive particles in the air, hence name RAD. I discussed this item with the company the other day and they assured me I COULD buy it but that they'd be absolved from ANYTHING after this. They will not offer any technical advice on using it as well - and will make you sign off on this.
So Im VERY impressed by you right now buddy! Not too many even know of this one- maybe we can do a group buy me and you! LOL:eek:

I used to be really into watches like 15 years ago. I was 20 years old thinkin I knew all I needed to know about watches but all I knew was what I liked that looked good lol

That said, I spent a good amount of money on my first and only "timepiece" and I haven't worn it in over 5 years lol it's big, too flashy for every day use and I don't go out enough to be able to enjoy it anymore. Plus I work a dirty job so I have to wear a cheap $20 digital plastic watch.

Does Anyone REALLY Own One Of These??

In the late 1980's and 90's, while low crawling thru the Northern Training Area in the jungles of Northern Okinawa, I recall using what was then a few futuristic watches called "Ironman" & then G-Shock. They could be purchased at all the Marine Corps PXs and most outdoor stores for under $100 I think. Fast forward 25+ years and now I cannot believe I am seeing a G-Shock watch OVER $1000 !!

MTGS1030BD-1 - Limited - Mens Watches | Casio - G-Shock

I realize its been out for awhile but I seriously have to ask you all, does ANYONE own one of these suckers and if so I assume you have some serious expendable cash or are much more hardcore than me when it comes to Spec Ops type stuff!

I will say this though - I actually used my Casio Pathfinder to call for indirect fire to help us out of a jam in Iraq, so the compass actually did come in handy on that piece!

So my curiosity kills me here. Anyone????

Awesome customer service!!

Last week I started an email chat session with the owner / President of the watch company Lum-Tech which has rave reviews on all the watch forums!
This guy, Chris Wiegand, actually answers all customer emails sent into them off the "Contact Us" website and THAT is a sure sign he is in touch with his clients and potential ones too! I was very impressed by this and also the deal he offered me on ANY choice I made. Though Im usually a guy that likes numerous features on a watch I also needed a snazzy dress type one with a leather band for my collection, and there were quite a few to choose from on their site. This is what I finally decided on and should be here by Wed.

Lum Tec, LLC

He also let me substitute the rubber band for the SS black one which I think dresses it up even more so if I wanted to alternate with the cool leather one. To me rubber gets a bit uncomfortable at times and never seems to fit just right ya know? Pics of it all here along with the link. They are a bit pricey but the reputation seems to carry a lot of weight and their highly effective Lume technology sure is sweet!

Nice!!

Here ya go Gunny.

Ive never heard of that Corum piece here but sure do like it man!

And believe it or not, I actually have that Tag on my list as well since I absolutely LOVE the blacked out look too! It was either that Tag or this MTM blacked out version - which has the same type of lights on it as my MTM Vulture. Hard decision since I don't have a Tag in my show box yet!

Titanium Black On Black Falcon

If you recall on one of my previous posts I bought the LE Reactor which is a monster for sure and also Stainless Steel. After wearing this Titanium MTM watch putting that thing on felt like I just tied my arm to a boat anchor! I now made the decision that all future watches (with exception of the
Lum-Tech one) will definitely be Ti. Just like we all love to do with our bikes when it comes to fasteners and any other item- shaving off weight makes a huge difference when it comes to other metals!

Thanks for the addition b900. Hope folks keep em coming. Im still waiting for my good friend MarkNYC to show you all his unreal collectors item piece that is probably worth a base model 1199-or maybe even a Tricolore! :D
Cmon Mark- show em what you got brother!

That Falcon is nice Gunny. I hated watches before being issued them but with the sweet ones we got i turned quickly.

And now some gshocks are high priced we used to be able to get them for $10 bucks 20 years ago lol. Im gonna get a few more then im done.

Come on mark show the goodies.

I would post pics if I could of what I have, but I don't know how:(

I've had an interest in watches since I was a kid.
A run down is as follows.

1 Mickey mouse watch.

Something else which replaced the Mickey Mouse watch that I can picture in my mind, but can't remember what it actually was that was a manual wind.

3 Seiko's over the years, 1 of which was my first "good watch"(Sports 100 solar powered digital), which lasted in a managed steady state of decline for about 25 years before finally terminating.
The remaining one is an SKX 171 diver, which is a good value keeper as a really good knock around/work watch.

There were a few fashion swatch watches given to me back in the 80's as gifts by my then lady love. They didn't last long at all and all died quickly.

There have been a few lovely IWC's(all gone now)

I bought a beautiful 2 tone Breitling "B class" with a blue dial on a bracelet for another past lady love as a gift.

I've had a superb Omega divers(60's vintage) which was fully refurbished to an as new state in Bien by the Omega restoration division.
I still have a great Omega Co-axial Railmaster on a strap which is a keeper.

There have been a good number of SS Rolex watches which have come and gone, both modern and vintage.
With up to 6 in the collection at one point in time worn on rotation. 1 of which is my first Roller.
Since I bought a DSSD(Mk II dial) for my birthday 3 years ago, It's been the daily wearer so I've pretty much stopped wearing anything else. It's the ultimate keeper.
There are 2 others that have yet to come back from Rolex at around the end of the month from getting the full spa treatment:)
Both of which will be sold before Christmas along with 1 other(which was my first and also has had the full spa treatment a few months ago) as soon as they are back.
That will bring me down to the 1 Roller.
The days of searching for "the one" are over since the Mk II DSSD has been on my wrist.

Anybody want to buy a watch?;)

"I would post pics if I could of what I have, but I don't know how"

Seriously Brad?? Cmon, you are a Senior Member with 1250 posts here man!
Its the same as posting up pics of your bike dude. Or are you just embarrassed about showing off the Mickey Mouse watch? :)

Somebody please help Brad out on putting up photos? There has to be a sticky or instructions on here somewhere - unless you are just joking around buddy?
