Aloha!
I just washed my V2 for the second time and i had kind of an odd surprise. When i opened the gas cap on the tank at the gas station there was water inside on the perimeter almost all the way to the top of the inside lip where the pump goes in to fill it up. I got the feeling that a couple of drops went in the tank but i may just have been me panicking. I did dry all the water carefully and waited for Monday to come around. Today i had two crapy experiences, one with the only dealer in Hawaii and the other with Ducati North America. LSS The dealer swears this is normal, to just make sure to dry any remaining water so it doesn't cause any rust. Ducati North America's customer service rep was very rude and couldn't care less. He said to do what the dealer said, and basically told me to deal with it. I asked to see if he knew of any other people reporting the same issue and he said "no, this is the only instance" which then prompted my question: If this is not a known issue, doesn't that indicate a possible problem? - If it was a known issue, it would either be normal or they would have a fix... Anyways here are my questions:
1) Has anybody run into this before? It seems like a big design flaw to have water anywhere near the gas tank so i doubt it's intentional.
2) Anyone with a contact at a Ducati dealership or DNA that could help?
