So the talking point is that a factory in China has a lesser suicide rate than the entire US?
A factory should not have a measurable suicide rate.
I mean, most of the electronics you have are built on Chinese suffering, so I'll forgive them on the obvious Ducati rip-off that will never be sold in any appreciable numbers.

Obviously Top Gun and Mav excepted I don't get military hero worship, they are just public servants on wages doing a job. Same with cops, pretty sure it's one of the lowest risk jobs out there. Forestry workers and commercial fishermen have a far higher work related death and injury rate.
My respect was that of an aviator with extraordinary skills in many Aviation disciplines military and civilian and the huge contribution to aviation technology in general. Nothing to do with the fact he was in the navy. I’m guessing you haven’t haven’t landed a jet on a carrier. The responsibility may not be as high as pruning a tree or catching a salmon but there’s a lot to it.

Apart from the martial nature of his skillset, its just a skill yes? How about sports people? Simone Biles is the the greatest gymnast the world has ever seen, can you compare the discipline, talent and work ethic, or in our world Stoner, Rossi, Marquez....in the end your aviator was a guy with a talent doing his day job.

Seriously, under estimating China is a very big mistake. If you talk to people from Asia, they’ll remind you the previous 5,000 years just before our moderns lives, China ruled half the world. And yes, greedy short sighted US corporations who got not only permission but huge economic benefits moving US manufacturing to Chinese slavery basically has been shoveling $billions to them for a generation. And +1, we can stop anytime. Just stop buying Chinese ..... Easier than you might think.
China has big plans to go back to global dominance and they are well on their way.

I was just talking to a guy from Monoco yesterday who told me “China is pretty much the only country with long term plans.” (100 year plan) almost every other country is run by corporate whores gunning for any quick return.” Rare leaders outside of that.
Anyway, ya I agree, they’ll figure it out pretty soon and they’ll be like Japanese manufacturing. In the ‘80’s it was a mark of ..... Now it’s top.

Foxxcon Has Over 800,000 employees. The suicide rate was compared to US cities of the same size and blah blah.
Foxxcon is a nice place to work compared to the other factories. I’ve seen .... at Chinese factories that blew my mind. They farm people like we farm chickens. 6 weeks from egg to KFC basket.

I’ve watched numerous videos of Dales accident. It was a high performance plane and he was 72, which is about when driving skills tend to erode. His plane took off, the AOA got steeper and steeper till he stalled and rolled over and went into the ground. In all of 10 seconds from his initial roll. It’s speculative that the elevator trim tabs were set wrong or that the stick itself was possibly locked, but it seems that theory is no longer true as if it was locked, the brakes would have been on. Was he a hero, to me he was a guy that had a great job flying jets and getting paid for it. So I’d say no to hero, but a great patriot.
