I was having a discussion with a guy at work and he legitimately believes big pharma operates in the best interest of people. I recounted the greed and manipulation behind every other industry, to which he agreed on. But when I asked, "Why wouldn't the big wigs in big pharma use the same exact tactics to maximize their money and power as everyone else does?" His response was, "I dunno, I feel like they aren't like that and just want to help as many people as possible."

People don't understand that the people on the board of directors for these companies aren't doctors making an honest living trying to help people. They're investors trying to maximize their profits and power. If you replaced Pfizer with Chevron or McDonald's or Amazon, people would be raising hell at the manipulation going on. But because Pfizer is our lord and savior here to deliver us from this pandemic, there's no way the booster shots are being pitched for them to make more money, they just legitimately want to help.

It's all so exhausting.
 
Ha, if you can’t beat them, join them. So we get a bunch of old school busses, paint them up, put some .... inside them and call them “Booster Busses” send them out with some soon to be off the “free money” drivers to parking lots all across America. Boom. We could put stripper poles in the back for “while you wait” entertainment.

I wonder if it occurred to her (as it might to an intelligent 8 year old), that she seems to assume that the numbers on which she bases her calculations and conclusions are accurate, while simultaneously ignoring the fact that she has no idea if they are or aren’t.

Are we certain there have been 41 million cases and 640k deaths in the US?
 
What I'd like to know and realize I'd see a pig fly before this happened but what is the actual number of deaths due to covid and nothing else playing a factor in ones death. Take all the underlying health conditions out, the fact that john doe really died of stage 4 cancer but because he tested positive, it's now a covid death, fact that john doe's dad was 98 years old tested positive and died due to covid.

Give us the real numbers

Right right right. Because the majority of Americans are super healthy and don’t have some sort of underlying health problem.

Here’s the thing, you have stage 4 cancer puts you at higher risk of developing blood clots when you get Covid. Cancer makes you coagulopathic. Same w Covid. So their not unrelated.

Also, are you at all involved in the medical field? If not, stay in your lane.

Rac your problem is that your highly regarded “science” department is responsible for the very banter you despise. The science community is all over the map. They constantly disagree with each other, they constantly change their positions and they have in many cases presented poor information. It’s no wonder it’s difficult to understand. The very people presenting it do a piss poor job at convincing a lot of people that they have any idea WTF they are doing. You really can’t blame ignorance here.

You personally, have displayed another trait that aggravates people. Your ignorance in anything but what you think is evident. Good to see you have all the answers. Meanwhile stupid me, I rode 120 miles yesterday and I’m doing another 100 today. Do you die from the gunshot or the smashed liver, does uncle john with stage 3 cancer die of cancer or the car wreck that took his head off? If you could live for another year with your condition but died because you got sepsis from that cut?

Fact is that if you died of covid, then covid was the cause of death never mind about your "underlying conditions"

Those comments are hardly the verbiage on an educated researcher.

Ha, let’s look at another glaring example of your “data experts” Looks like the scientific term for “no idea WTF we’re doing which is why we can’t agree on ....” is officially now referred to as a “skeptic tone”. And you really can’t figure out why people don’t trust you guys?
