Hey my wife is 20 years my jr, let me check her past, she might qualify to kick off the thread. If not, I’m sure she has some friends that could.

Iduhoe….

Funeral homes are making some money on this. Those with crematoriums too. Oh well carry on. Let’s burn this thing out and finish it off.
Fake news, just like all the other nonsense you post. If it is the end of time as we know it, I hope someone gives you cuts in line. What a ........ You have anything relevant to share about motorcycles or do you sit around all day on eBay shopping for new pocket protectors?

LOL Great, making more money than that free government tax payer check you get every week. On a side note do you actually know Jaret? I do, and I can absolutely tell you that he is doing a lot better than you are and unlike you he’s actually has a girlfriend and a motorcycle, neither of which anyone here has seen from you. At least Mick posted up some pics when called out, and you commented on it just how I expected you would. How about you champ, let’s see what you ride. Oh and Jaret’s girlfriend Christina, she makes waaaaay more money than you do, has a nicer bike, and can probably out ride you and I’m sure she outweighs you.

Hey Paul, we’re all talking motorcycles on the other threads. Might want to join in. You’re starting to look like DC with all these cut and paste news stories. We all get the news dude.

Got out for a ride today - had to wait a minute for a marathon to pass. I was actually totally boxed in, so the cops opened the gates and let me cross.
Blew down some big sweepers warming the tires and just when I got to the hills and it started sprinkling.
I stopped and just sat there in the rain a while to see what it was going to do. Watched the sky a bit. I just didn't give a fk if I was getting wet. It was nice.
Nice to be alive and outside.
I rode a bit more just to take the long way home. As I was turning into my house I had to wait again for 6 cop cars to pass. They all rubber necked at my bike.
Got inside, closed the door, thunder clap, and BAM it started dumping hard rain. Lot's of lighting now.
Fun timing.
Saw a funny meme.
If you watch the news it's the end of the world
If you don't watch the news, it's Sunday

Definitely going crazy in lockdown!

Can't believe you sold that. You have to get another one before they're impossible to find.
I have a long list of, 'can't believe I sold that' and a much longer list of, 'wtf haven't I sold that yet.'

I used to have one of these ex WW1 .303 with the full wood, I loved it. Cheap ammo, super basic and reliable. Pigs, deer,, cans, possums, awesome rifle.

Endo check out this piece by David Emmett on the young guys dying- Lots of questions, no easy answers but a good perspective on it.

I checked out when I read these lines.

"The best hope of improving a fallen rider's chances of survival is better protective gear, to absorb and dissipate as much as the energy as possible. Such technology is not available now, and may never be available."

I had to see if that article was written in the 1970s...

I think the author was generally reasonable. The quote that stood out to me was:

“The deaths – three teenagers in the space of less than four months – led to a great deal of introspection in the racing world, and concerns over what should be done to prevent this from happening again.”

This is human nature. Multiple incidents in a short time tend to cause the perception of a “crisis” even if there isn’t one, and people tend to get highly reactionary - “Something must be done!”

Maybe it does, or maybe it doesn’t - I don’t know. At least they seem to be advocating thoughtfulconsideration rather than reactionary posturing.

Well I wont pretend to know anything about raising a child. Due to extensive traveling and somewhat of a point and shoot lifestyle, we elected not to have kids. That being said I can only imagine the trauma of loosing a young person to any event. As far as risks are concerned, at least they are doing something with respect to risk mitigation. Back in my day as a kid (70s) I never heard a word with regard to child safety. I grew up in Hawaii in grade school. Surfed, skateboards in the canals and on the street, BMX, football. No one ever mentioned wearing a helmet on a skateboard. No one batted an eyelash when you got your ... kicked during a game and in Hawaii as a white kid playing full contact pop warner football with Tongan, Fijian and Samoan kids who were three times my size, you took a pounding. As a 10 yo you came home bleeding almost daily from something. No one gave two thoughts to consequences.

When I moved to CA age 12 I got heavily into BMX and some of the downhill tracks were pretty fast and you broke things. Again, not even a thought about better safety. Went into minicycles, 125, 250 and we had more gear but most of that was because gear was cool. JT, FOX etc. Went on to fly jets in an environment that was anything but predictable. Today, I wear gear all the time but we skydive, parasail, fly small planes and some Jujitsu which I am on the loosing end most of the time. Same mentality. I guess if you want to certain things, there are certain risks. I'm not sure you can put an age on that. I know my parents didn't and I am thankful for that. Ultimately, its the parents decision I guess. Just not sure what the backlash is when the kid sees his friends doing things he cannot and what the longer term ramifications are later in life. I def know for sure being involved in aggressive (unsafe) activities as a kid paved the way for me to take chances as an adult I probably wouldn't have taken and I would probably have a 9-5 cubicle job, no toys and my life would suck. Yes I am sure it influenced my somewhat ....... demeanor as well. Can't have everything

take a look at Australia. what's happening there. we have plenty of members from down under, maybe they can chime in.

IT IS NOT ABOUT THE VIRUS.

Americans simply don’t have the sac to reclaim what’s theirs. It will eventually go to the victor. Thousands of laws passed every year. Every time you pass a law, someone looses a freedom.
