What are the best grips?

I'v nearly got this bike how I want it but I want to change the grips. I have big hands so am looking for something a little thicker that can also maybe damp out a little of the vibes on a long run but that still feels nice and direct.

Believe it or not I am now using a very strange set of grips which everyone here laughed at me about, but they seem to be catching on a little.
The great guys at Bellissimoto told me about these Domino EX3 grips which are at the bottom of this page on link. They look crazy but do seem to service a purpose for relieving hand pressure and arm pump. Before they had them I ordered them from other link called G2 Ergonomics. Hell, they were under $20 bucks so I gave them a shot!
Thanfully grips are something you can swap out often without costing you a fortune ya know? Good luck and try these suckers out if you are brave enough to take the ridicule (until they really start catching on! ) :D

No doubt a distant second to uhh, ^that^ sort of grip, but if you're looking for something larger in diameter than stock with a bit more rubber to smooth out the vibes, you might give some Domino Parco's a try.

Domino Parco Grip - Domino Street Grips - Street Bikes

Ran across Parco's first on a KTM Superduke, which they come stock on, and really like 'em. You'll have to slice the ends out, but they have a groove to follow for that and it's easy.

Do they slip over the stock grips or replace the stock grips and throttle linkage or whatever it's called?

I recall stumbling across foam grips that slip over the stock grips but cannot seem to find them again. Anyone recall such a product?

I love ProGrip 717's, been using them for 10 years on every bike I've owned. Many MotoGP racers use the same grips. They're cheap and they'll last a whole race season, or many years on the street. If you can't find them at your local shop, we have them here:

Quite agree the 717's are the best, but maybe I ride too much or punch it into turns quickly as I get through more than one set per year per bike! Mine wear out on the inside where I push the bike, but they are so soft they feel great with thin gloves. Worth buying two sets a year....

Do the 717's come with the throttle linkage for the 1199?

You must remove the stock grips... The throttle grip has a larger ID to go over the throttle tube same as the stock grip.
 
Wish those grip puppies came in a more exciting design... They look very Blah...
