Is there any solid info out for possible changes for 2017? I'm considering swapping to a 1299 from my 15 S1000rr. The S is a solid machine but at high altitude it feels much diminished and the excitement factor is leaving me underwhelmed. Starting my research process, lots of good info here. Thx guys.

Sorry, I don't know. I'll buy when they have YELLOW available again. Ducati are you out there, . . . . hellooooooo?

Is there a reason that you think the 1299 will be less affected by altitude??

My guess is not much, it seems to go in 3 year cycles so the next major update would be 2018.

I'm sure the 1299 will suffer from altitude as well but the mid range torque should feel better on the street. The S still gets after it up here but not until 12k. Id be happy with a new radiator for 2017

for sure euro 5 emission rules in 2018, so look closely to the 959, US excluded:(

I know Ducati has a "special" 1299 in the works. It is supposed to be a very high end bike, so I am assuming superleggera. Bikes supposed to be released before the end of the year.

The 1299 stomps all over the S1000RR in the midrange - rode them both back to back. It's that broad, galloping spread of power that sold me

Yep, hence my suffering. Talked to the dealer.. Trade in value is crap so I'm going to try to sell the S as well as my track bike to fund the 1299.

New Desmosedici is what I hear..

But the 2017 1299 will come with a pez dispenser, red starbucks card and updated thigh warmers.

What color? Post up a pic, there are some S1000RR fans on here (including me, just prefer the 1299 for general riding)

Not really. Euro 4 comes first starting with Januar 1, 2017 (Euro 5 will start on Januar 1, 2020 only).

With Euro 4 every new motorcycle will have to fulfill increased (or rather decreased) emissions and sound regulations. I do not see any possibility how the 1299 will be able to fulfill these regulations with the current engine and exhaust design. Noise wise I think the 959 double cans mounted to the side are a good guess of what's to come in 2017. Emissions I have no idea what Ducati can get out of the current V2 layout. But my guess is that they are forced to move on to a V4 layout instead. This is also the roumors I heard both from my dealer and people close to the SBK paddock.

While I could probably live with e V4 engine layout, I hate the new exhaust cans on the 959. The sound (I heard personally on the track) is nearly non existing. It sounds like an e-bike! I therefore will move on to replace my 1199S with a 1299S as soon as possible. Probably the last Ducati bike (at least in Europe) with real sound!

My dealer is taking deposits for next years new model:D, couldn't tell me much about it apart from its a whole new superbike and around the £30k mark:eek: and the panigale range will still be available.

The Hell you say. I heard nothing of the sort. Who gives. I just bought a 1299 and am "happy as a dog with two dicks". I'm also racing in an 899 cup series. Do I need that bike? No. But if something does come along I will get that too:D

Are these races available online Thamer. I'm following you and a few other guys who race in Bahrain.

Hey they streamed a couple of races live, but it was a cost issue. They have a YouTube channel where you can watch a few of the races. I actually thought about you coming out to wildcard. It's about $2k but it's really a first class operation and the competition is varied enough that you won't get murdered. Though the front guys are stupidly fast. I will find the link and post it. Go to YouTube and type in Bahrain superbike. And you should find it.

About the wildcard, they've had several guys fly in to race from all over the place. You should consider it for next season. I encourage anyone to come.

That's what they said! Ive had my 1299s for a year so they wanted to know if i would be intrested in trading it in and putting a deposit down! £1000 deposit, Around £30k:eek: not a panigale, although the panigale range will continue and oh and it will be 1000cc:eek: . Couldn't tell me what it would look like or engine configuration but there is something new coming:cool::D

I would do it in a heartbeat, next year. I am considering taking next year off and getting some top notch training in. Keep me in mind for next year.
