I know this thread is going to be based on speculation, and it is a good 4-5 years away, but what do you think ducati will do with their next superbike line up? Will they try to refine the v-twin, use a v-four, or inline? I hope that they go with the v-four, I can't see a ducati with a inline. What are your thoughts?

i think they have spend alotalotalot of $$$ on RnD for the pani's engine. They will stick to L-twin and have other valves/cylinder size ,tune configuration with the superquatro engine, some forum speculation on a 799 mill.
until they have recover their RnD investment and begin making certain profits/returns....they will not invest on another engine development.
The superquatro is the new generation.

They will stick to L-twin and desmo valves even for the next generation of engine.what is left of ducati heritage, wet clutch/chain will be the future:D.

With frame being gone on this bike I wonder if that opens the possibility to build a modern interpretation of the ss with a conventional Steel trellis frame?

Might be a viable alternative to the pani now.
