I love all bikes but even if this Pani is a tiny bit slower if not just as fast as the BMW, it's ....... FAST as ...., looks better, will be a great collector bike, and will turn a thousand more heads than that BMW or any other bike in this class (including the MV)...

+100

And it's a damn twin...! :D
...It's going to sound like GOD...!

sorry but the germans couldn't design a good looking bike even if they wanted to! That bmw looks like it hit every fugly stick as it left the design studio.

Really?

So, apart from the unusual direction they took with the lights... what is wrong with it?

Yeah but how?

The fairing around the wonky lights, ie the shapes cut out of the fairing to accommodate the lights?

Or the side fairing pieces are actually different on both sides?

Oh! He meant gills.
I was trying to work out wtf he was talking about.
(Frosty, didn't you have a go at someone else for spelling?)

I saw that in an image search but thought nothing of it cos it was race fairing.
Just thought it was some wacky idea someone had.

For real? That's um, an interesting design.

The side fairings are completely different. One side has a set of giles.

YEAH, IT'S GILLS ;)

And tho im not a fan of BMW at all and commend them on their creation of a superbike that was the benchmark a "few yrs back" now lol....I happen to know the reasoning behind this design concept (deffect lol)

On the right side the gills are actually intake posts for the radiator fan.

On the left side, it's the exact opposite...exit port for the hot air.

And those differences in design actually influenced BMW creation of their wacky headlights

my explanation above in regards to left side, right side of the bimmer might be reversed actaully, can't rememeber now.

just thought i'd put that disclaimer since we got some sensitive vaginas on the forum lol

Pfft... There are so many factors that determine lap times. Tyres, setup and rider to name a few.
For those numbers to have any meaning at all, they need to post more details on how they got those lap times. Even then a rider's particular style maybe more suited to some bikes than others.

they have 2 different riders and both rode all the bikes , as you can see by the times 1 guy is a bit faster than the other but both are consistent and the 1199 was 4th with each rider .

you can't compare with moto GP or WSBK as they are so far removed from what you can buy it is not even worth talking about .

superstock is about the only thing close and they are shinning in that either , yes they are doing ok but this was to be the new superbike destroyer and its 30-40% more cost wise, than the competition its running against .

i liked Ducati in Moto GP until they removed the only factor that made the ducati win Stoner :D:D i still hope Hayden does well also . but i don't get blinded by the Brand as many are on here , i had ordered one but canceled as i didn't want to spend 25K on a standard bike knowing i would have to throw half of it in the bin to get it to handle , and this is not just me talking the team that was going to build it for me gave me a list of what he'd to be replaced to make it work and that list was long ,

read back through some of the post on here and other ducati forums , everyone was raving about the HP figures and top speeds , now it turns out to be close to where it was with the 1198 4th or 5th fastest in group test , now no one seams cares about the speed or lap times as they are blinded by the Ducati brand if you want to pay double for a bike that isn't as good as the competition go ahead .

i am going to test ride one next month to see how it goes on track , i hope you are all happy with your new bikes , i know i love my new one 204 hp at the rear wheel , TC , LC , WC pit sped limiter , full spec ohlins factory forks , full carbon body work , 16.5 inch wheels with over sized brembo disks and its proven as it has a 131.6 mph lap of the TT and was 3rd in last years race all this for less than the cost of a standard 1199 :D:D:D:D

Noob mistake, posting from my "iPaid" :p .

BMW still king

Then take your ass off this DUCATI forum and go spam on your BMW forum.

First of all your precious BMW is ugly as ...., so as fast as you feel it is (as if 186mph isn't fast enough for you) its still an ugly piece of ..... So go race your Q-mile and brag all you want but at the end of the line, your still sitting on a BMW and that's all you got.
