So I called MotoWheel and they no longer do the conversion and have no referrals. Sucks. I googled Larry Albin and his contact number no longer works haha. Sooooo just wondering if anyone has a person or shop who can convert it?

TIA

this is bad news was going to post to motowheels in new year! no one does this in uk, hopefully you guys will find some one to do this,

Just an FYI to save $ you can do it yourself. I forget who but there is someone who sells the two pieces you need online.

Very simple to do.

Just an FYI though, your ttx will still texhnically be outdated since the release of the ttx-GP.
I believe no matter how they do the mod it makes your shock an MKII, not a -GP. I doubt there's much any difference just making an observation.

You're right. I just spoke to Lenny and he can do the conversion. It makes the low end stock Ohlins into a Mark II which is the same internal as the GP. He says the only difference is the appearance with a sleeker look on the GP. So all in, I'll be sub $700!! :D I'll be happy with a new-tech Mark II :)

I'm pretty sure mkII has different internals (damping needles) from GP?

Well he did say "pretty much the same" haha, maybe he implied the needles are different?!?! Not sure I will be able to tell anyways. I'll just be happy to get out of this stock shock. I was impressed with his overall seemingly high level of expertise. And he was nice haha. You know how there are a bunch of suspension snobs ;)

hi was that $700 to convert?

No Lenny said depending on how it goes and what parts he has in stock, he'll be in the $400-450 range to convert it with the new spring. So that + the great deal I got from a fellow member here would be around $700. Cheaper than a $1300 TTX-GP and it'll be very similar :)
