If you own the Arai Ducati Corse RXV Carbon Helmet I want to ask you some questions

1. Is it worth the price/shipping time?
2. Does it have good ventilation?
3. How would you overall rate it?

Thanks

I wish ;). There was a thread awhile back and a few people had them on order. If no one responds, you might PM member CaliDuc I remember he had ordered one.

isn't that helmet $4 grand? because obviously that is not worth the price. for that price you can get the top of the line helmets from arain, shoei or schuberth four or five times over.

unless that carbon-fiber lid comes with a BJ, i'm not buying

No BJ is worth $3K+ :D

On a serious note... I was seriously considering ordering one when it was first announced last year. But decided not to because I was considering dressing up my S with CF. I'm glad I didn't do either one of those things. I guess I kind of knew I was getting the R. ;)

The Ducati Corse NXV helmet is still on order, 2 months so far. No delivery date declared.

I ordered mine with ProItalia, this vendors advert about 8 weeks wait is complete ........ as is the custom logo work, I recently found out that some folks had been waiting since August 2012 !!!!! ProItalia, certainly did not declare that when I ordered with them, lots of hassle with this helmet, I noticed that they pushed the price up again - So much hassle dealing with ProItalia over this issue.

If it is not here soon then I will be canceling, way too much hassle with this helmet and doubly so with cash up front and non existent delivery dates.

Careful Cali.:D.. Some people on this forum get very upset if we don't kiss vendors .......

I edited my previous post ..

The only problem I have with vendors is when they actually deceive or use the absolutely lame "Hey, there Italians", when I hear these words it signals the time to select another vendor.

I am amazed how vendors can take cash up front and then fail to secure delivery dates ???

A good vendor will make a note to keep on top of orders and ping customers sporadically with updates. Taking customers money and then expecting them to chase you for orders is really lame.

+1

A friend of mine has it, think he paid £3,400 . It's way heavier than my marushin Carbon which I blinged up with couple stickers and changed visor cost me £219!
I don't mind spending but I don't like being ripped off! I have organised a pre Belgium meet this Saturday so will ask Mike yr questions.
He has a Panigale R I will mention this site see if he can reply in person

i have had 2 bell star carbons the helmet is spectacular. another great all carbon is the agv pista. i have seen and held the arai its gorgeous but i wouldnt spend that on a helmet.
if you have that cash and you dont care go for it. i personally dont have that for a helmet that isnt going to do anything more than the top of the line helmets i already have

I have the Arai Race Carbon. Love it.

1) Is it worth the price/shipping time? subjective question but in my opinion yes for several reasons.

2) Good ventilation - I think COSAIR V has one of the best ventilation systems for a race type helmet.

3)Rate it: 5 of 5

In all honesty if you have the cash to burn it's well worth it. I have a compress disk in my neck and I have tried all kinds of carbon helmets/light weigh helmets but only to find many flaws in them that create more stress on my neck. Arai makes the RC helmet just as stiff as the rest of the COSAIR V helmets. If you ever seen the shell of the arai helmets you could lay it on its side and jump on and it won't break. Try that with another carbon helmet and it will break. The Nexx Carbon is a great light weight helmet but the carbon is so brittle it will shatter. How do I know? I did it.

The roundness of the COSAIR V prevents wind buffeting at all angles (head on and during head checks) this is the reason why Arai claims they haven't changed the shape of the helmet in years. Other helmets like my Nexx Carbon, Shoei RF1100/1200, X12 all are pretty good with wind straight on but as soon as you do a head check serious buffeting occurs and heavier than my RC except the (nexx carbon) which causes stress to my neck. The Arai RC to me is the most comfortable helmet that is very light, less wind buffeting, strong and good looking. I can do long rides without my nect getting sore or fatigued. You really can't tell you are wearing a helmet. So is it worth it? To me if I can ride longer with excellent protection that Arai is known for then hell yes.

The Ducati RXV is the Arai Corsair V - same helmet. One is Ducati branded on the arai helmet, the other is arai's own helmet. .

Whether its worthwhile - its all relative. . Not sure why people are making relative statements and disparaging what others may or may not find worthwhile. . Some would argue that a Ducati "isn't worth it".

I raced with arai years ago and used to love them, all I wore, but the design hasn't changed. The old rx7 is the new corsair with minor changes and $400 more. They need to come up with something new.

+1 on the bell star carbon. I have one with transition visor, and my other helmets are collecting dust since I got the Bell.

No helmet is ever worth $3,000.

I'd pay $65,000 for a motorcycle any day over $3,000 for a 1 pound piece of carbon fiber. Thats insane. For 3 large that helmet would have to come for a 30 day lay pass with one of the hot blonde Ducati models. ...and even thats pushing it.
