I'm just curious , there is alot of money invested into these bikes but everyone seems to only get brembo. There are many many other amazing master cylindes and calipers out there aside from brembo. Galespeed, Magura, Accossiato, DiscaccIati (personal favorite based on looks, no personal experience with brand) Braking (ridiculous name for a brake company making it difficult to search out larts but fantastic equiptment), ISR, IRC , Beringer, Nissin to name a few. I understand "it's my money I'll spend it how I please" and fully accept and appreciate that but I can't help but wonder if it is just one of those lemming things(not ment to be an insult. Brembo makes a great product for the most part) or not knowing of the other companies. Most of us enjoy customize our bikes, making them unique and perform better but if everyone is using the same parts then ......... I'm not here to start an argument or fire off shots. Just curious, maybe this post will bring light to a brand that is equal too or better than Brembo and maybe we see more modified bikes using lesser known equipment. All of those that I mentioned have billet master cylinders with trademark touches and tricks that make them very competitive.

If there are other companies that I have missed that should be mentioned please do so. I would like to check them out.

I added a few screen shots to give a quick glance at what I'm talking about. It was just a quick search to add a little color to the post

IIRC, BMW ended up with HAYES for the latest s1krr since they offered the best performance.

BMW did change to Hayes and they have a huge issue... calipers are leaking. Some are just seals, some require the whole caliper to be replaced. My R1250GS had to have both front replaced. Took 4 months to get the new design.

For me, it's kind of like "Why Ohlins?". Are there other suspension components that work as well? Yes. Will you ever be disappointed in the performance of your Ohlins suspension? No. Same for Brembo, will you ever wish you had better performance than a proper aftermarket Brembo upgrade provides? No. There are plenty of reasons to choose other brands, and honestly the most common is cosmetics or just the desire for "something different". If that's where you are, go for it, I wouldn't have any problem running other brands, and have on many occasions. But have I ever regretted my Brembo upgrades? No. And here's the big one: When you go to sell your bike, if it has Ohlins suspension and Brembo brake upgrades, everyone who is a potential buyer will see the value in it, whereas if you have a more obscure brand, they may not. That's coming from the perspective of a dealer who takes trades and sells lots of used Superbikes.

Excellent post Jarel. There are aspects that you mentioned that look at it from a dealer and resale perspective as well as the more focused reasons. I would add availability as well. Race Technologies LLC is right down the street. I ordered 4 Z04 pads for race calipers and 2 seal kits yesterday and they will be delivered tomorrow. Im not getting that from anyone other mfg. There are some nice pieces out there from other mfg for sure. I always like the Nissin stuff

From my perspective, which I will admit is somewhat limited compared to many folks here, I've only ever seen Nissin on entry level bikes. So I have always considered them an entry level brake manufacturer.

It has only been in the last 4-5 years, when looking at upgrades for my Super Duke R and my R1250GS did I know Nissin makes upper tier stuff also.

By the by, IIRC, Accossato is a division of Brembo now.

OH!? I was not aware that they began a partnership. That's interesting. Its funny how in the supermoto world Beringer is thought of as the ultimate set up but you rarely see it mentioned in any other communities .
I understand the when point about Ohlins but that brings up a whole new ball of worms in my head due to the fact that most of the parts on street bikes are basic entry level ohlins but the masses see the name and think "OOOO! ohlins" when in actuality they technically are but they are basic entry level . In the Scrambler / hypermotard world people are realizing that the base bikes with aftermarket cartridges are far superior to the entry level Ohlins on those bikes. I understand they are a far cry off of from what comes on these flagship bikes but the whole thing frustrates. But I fully understand the point.
I also thought of Nissin as not having high end pieces till I recently seen an actual master cylinder posted up fro sale that came from a bonfire race team . The type of piece that is difficult for a normal person to obtain . It was a crazy deal that I missed out on . It was only up for sale for minutes before it was gone but it totally opens my eyes to their top ties stuff. I just like to see people going 'against the grain' using lesser known parts that are just as good. I recently picked up a set of IRC billet master cylinders with ducabike levers (to be completely honest ) because they are said to be fantastic, they are lesser known and I was dead set against brembo just to be different. I have a Beringer laying around but wanted matching. Knowing now that Accossiato is in partnership with brembo, had I have gone with Accossiato (was among my list of what I was looking for) I would have been very angry. May seem shallow (or deep or .......) but that was my frame of though.
But I get the point of resale and people seeing the name and it being easier to sell.

You guys need to stop being so fast in responding to emails. Stop shipping so quickly and stop being so friendly on the phone because I order to much from you guys lolol

Ha ha! Well there are a few who would disagree with you right now, as we've had a lot of delays in parts shipments the past 2 months with all of the 'rona going on in Italy. We do always try our best as a very small shop with a small staff, sometimes people expect us to have a staff of 15 handling our internet sales as opposed to the 2 we actually have. Glad we can count you in the Happy Camper group! :)
