Now that i have a deposit on a 2014 1199 s, to be delivered in february, what are the essential goodies i should be looking into?
What are peoples thoughts on the austin racing exhaust?
Is there a set of heated grips that work best?
How about a tuner? I've seen people talking about tune boy, rexxer, and some just getting a download. Thoughts?
I have never been a fan of piggy backs. I feel the ecu should do its job, prefer a flash.
I know i have lots of questions in this one thread, but it is going to be a LONG few cold months until i get my baby!!

With the exception of footpegs (get rid of the stock ones - either replacements that fit the stock rearsets or getting new rearsets as the stock pegs are awful) I'd put some miles/hours on it in stock form. That'll tell you what you'll want to change.

Serves two purposes -
1) Familiarity with stock characteristics gives you a base line for comparison.
2) Better feel for priorities.

Pure bling (like replacing the keyguard with CF) is just a matter of choice - not something that interests me (though I did replace early on the rear tag hanger with a rizoma unit - just looks better).

Ride it stock for a while. That will tell you what your priorities should be (everyone has a different set). Should I get suspension sorted first? Should I go for the full race exhaust first? Should I get those aftermarket CF/Mag wheels first? Should I go for a quick change sprocket @ 41t first? etc., etc.

Aside from bling factor, it's a waste of money to change something before you know WHY you're changing it and what difference/improvement/benefit you expect to get out of it.

I do think a comfort seat should be on your list also.... Other than that I agree with Charlie.... Ride it and see what you feel you need/want to change...

tank protector, fender eliminator kit, comfort seat, and maybe frame sliders. the first three i did as soon as i got the bike. if i drop/go down on the bike, i anticipate it will be the end of me; so no need for sliders in my case :p
